We got engaged on Sovereign of the seas in 1990, bought the ring in Imperial jeweler in St Thomas the next day. Honeymoon was on SS Norway they were two of our favorites cruised both several times. Those were about 50 cruises ago.
Honeymoon cruise on Explorer of the seas, 9 months to Canada/New England and we splurged for a "Grand suite". Excellent, incredible cruise. We are not big beach people so this was perfect for us. It was the beginning of Oct this cruise.
The only sour note but had nothing to do with the cruise is I was out of work. We paid for everything the year prior but as the economy took a dump I part my job. Talk about getting married, having an expensive honeymoon and being out of work. [emoji15] Stressful time, but now I have an extremely secure, and excellent job so it all worked out in the end.

Honeymoon on the Cunard Countess, 7 day Caribbean.  Great cruise. (While it lasted)   Crew went on strike in Barbados on day 4 (It was the only "union" port".... )  Sat there for 3 days then flown back to San Juan.

My DH proposed to me Christmas Eve on a Formal Night Sea Day between Australia and New Zealand while crossing the Tasman Sea.  You should have see the Christmas Trees shaking - they had to close all top level bars.  25 foot swells!  Later I found out he was SOOO nervous carrying an expensive engagement ring with him.  This was also his first cruise.

We got married a year later in Maui - hopped off the ship via TENDER to get married - my kind mother in law made a rain coat to cover the bottom of my dress from the waist down so it wouldn't get dirty on the tender.  Good thing, because the kids sitting across from me propped their feet up on me.  Big dress.  Some family traveled on the ship with us and some traveled direct to Maui.  Had we missed our port we had decided we wouldn't get married since his side of the family would have missed out.  Our cruise missed Kona the next day and a couple who were supposed to get married on a private beach missed out.  The captain married them on the bridge later that day.

Honeymoon - that was a year and a half later.  Paul Gaugin (leased by Regent at the time) cruise in Tahiti.  We also stayed at the best overwater bungalow in Moorea!

Great thread!

We honeymooned on NCL's MS Southward in October 1976--Western Caribbean itinerary.

About two months prior to our wedding it dawned on us that we should think about a honeymoon.  I have no idea how the idea of a cruise came up.  Not only had neither of us had ever been on cruies, we didn't even know anybody who had been on a cruise--and "The Love Boat" was still years away,  The following weekend we walked into a travel agency, and, less than an hour later, we were booked.

The cruise was great.  Obviously, we enjoyed it because we are still cruising.  😁

We renewed our vows, kind of. There was a priest on board to do a blessing with as many couples who showed up at a specific time. I think there was a dozen couples and no priest. We waited for a long time and finally one of the priests helpers found him who knows where. He joked around a  bit and that was it. We all got up confused and went on with our day.

Our cruising son proposed to his sweetheart at the base of the White Pass railroad in Skagway on an Alaskan family cruise and it was memorable.

They did their honeymoon a few months later on a Celebrity cruise in the Caribbean.

We got married in 2014 and took a belated honeymoon on a cruise 3 years later for our anniversary. We went on the Carnival Inspiration 4 day cruise to Ensenada to see if we liked cruising (we did). We did the Mexican Riviera on Panorama for our 6 year anniversary in Jan 2020. And will hopefully cruise again for our 10 year anniversary.

Actually just celebrated our 50th Anniversary last month.  We spent a week on the then MS Boheme of Commodore Cruise Lines as part of our honeymoon.  That was not as common a thing in those days, 1970.   Amazingly the ship is still afloat and operated by the church of Scientology of all people.  Had a very bumpy first 3 days as we rode along a hurricane and actually had a few passengers who disembarked in St Thomas and did not return.  Cruise stopped in Freeport, a very brief nighttime visit to the Casino, St Thomas, San Juan, where we overnighted and Cap Haitian.  Was turned off to cruising by that early experience and the bumpy ride but gave it another try 28 years later in Alaska.  Needless to say, different style ship and seas.  We are Princess Elite now with cruises all over the world both on the Ocean and the rivers.

DW and I were married in 2004 in St Thomas, which was day 2 of our Adventure of the Seas cruise out of SJ.  The rest of the cruise was our honeymoon.  It was awesome in every way.  It was our first time on a Voyager Class ship so on top of the marriage, we were blown away by the ship.

Honeymooned on NCL in 1989. It was a terrible experience -- all we wanted to do was to jump ship -- and the treatment we received by their management onboard and afterwards was so terrible that I've never again sailed with them.

Agree on there management, although I liked the line in 80’s and 90’s but would never cruise them again.

Honeymooned on the Noordam in 2002 in the Mediterranean. HAL couldn't find us a room where the beds pushed together, so we ended up sleeping in twins for most of our honeymoon. In exchange, we were invited to dinner at the Captain's table on a day when the ship was at an enormous list due to wind; definitely a memorable experience. I had a broken ankle the whole time -- broke it 4 days before the wedding -- and was in a walking boot, so I was swaying forward to back while the ship was swaying side to side, and got super-dizzy; my new husband ended up carrying me around for much of the cruise.

Back in my single days in the 80’s I traveled with single world which was just a bunch of single people on a cruise, one of the women sprained her ankle, and I was designated to carry her around in crowded areas since I was the largest guy.

Honeymooned on SS Norway as well (Caribbean cruise out of Miami) in 1992 - our first cruise (great introduction). Met a lovely couple from Atlanta, Georgia (we are from Liverpool, UK) - they were on their second cruise - became friends for life ! Since taken about 20 more cruises - looking forward to the next - whenever that may be !

Not us but on a cruise about 10 years ago we met and became friendly with a couple on the ship who were getting married in St, Thomas. They invited my wife and I to the ceremony and the party. She was from the USSR and he was from Brooklyn,NY.

We did go to the ceremony but not to the party.
