cancellation fee

I was looking at booking a 2022 cruise, is the cancellation fee new or just something AZ does - I don't think I've seen that on Celebrity 

 

"Cancellation: $1100 deposit ($550 person) refundable up to final payment. $75 per person admin fee to cancel once the booking has been deposited."

AZ has had a cancellation fee for a few years.  It initially was $50/pp but last year went up to $75/pp.

Celebrity never did and does not have that.

We've only had to cancel once (when it was $50/ea) so not a big deal in the overall picture.

curious if they have a price reduction do they make you eat the $75.

As long as you are before final you can be re-fared so no need for cancellation fees.

Although this concession does not apply in every country, but does apply in the country of the original poster.

I actually wrote "in the US" in the posting and then deleted because I was not sure if there were other countries that it WAS available (knowing that there are some where it is not).

Thanks for the heads up for those who may not know that is the case.

I thought that I had read somewhere - can't find it now- that the nonrefundable admin fee was going to change to a credit to use towards a future booking
