Regent Seven Seas Mariner

Has anyone stayed in one of the 3 Horizon View Suites, (1082, 1083, 1084) on the Mariner?  The suites are below LaVeranda Restaurant and there is dining inside and out, breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Concerned about the noise level.  All replies are appreciated. Thank you.

The Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your line, ship and sail date is the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you BEFORE the cruise. Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread, especially ones that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. Also, the Roll Call thread for your cruise is the ONLY place on Cruise Critic where you and your fellow Roll Call thread members are allowed to post personal ads about sharing private tours, excursions, transportation etc. with each other to save money. There is a "captive audience" since you are all sailing together!  You will receive a much better response to your share request if you take some time to read the entire Roll Call thread, post an introductory post about yourself, and continue on with more posts back and forth to get to know the other thread members and allow them to get to know YOU first before you post your share request. Just an FYI, (nothing about HS) the Mariner is a great ship.  We really enjoyed cruising on the Mariner.

Thanks, we’ve cruised on the Mariner at least five times and always enjoyed it.  We  have never booked a Horizon Suite, and are a little concerned about being below LaVeranda.

General advice - don't be under the pool, the pool deck or LaVeranda. Don't be above the theater.  Aside from that, you will probably be fine.

 

I like the back of the Navigator...it saves me from putting quarters into the bed all night.

The Horizon suites (and PH suites) on Mariner are an excellent size and layout.

We have stayed in a Horizon suite twice and loved every minute of both cruises. However we chose deck 8 & 9 specifically to avoid the possibility of noise from above or below, so not sure about those Horizon suites on deck 10.

We stayed in 1083 a couple of years ago. There was a bit of noise in the living room but not the bedroom. Noise was only heard in the early morning. I would stay there again but would prefer a lower deck.

We stayed in one that was above the back bar.  Mistake. We are noise sensitive and music from the lounge bothered us.  Being below LaVeranda would not have bothered my husband because he is a natural early riser...I’m not.  So, if you are an early riser..what the heck.

Thanks for your reply.  This Horizon Suite was not our choice, but the 2023 World Cruise sold out immediately!   We really want to try a World Cruise on Regent but this cabin below LaVeranda is causing concern.  The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Screeching chairs on the outside deck 24-7.  Think we are waitlisted for another suite, but who knows if we will be able to change.  We are early risers but I fear not early enough on sea days.  Earplugs?

I'm thinking that over the next two years there will be opportunities to change cabins.  Just my opinion. I would kill for that suite, so I don't feel too bad for you, ha ha.

We were below LaVeranda on Voyager (10-something at back of ship with a great balcony and view), having accepted an offer for an upgrade.  BIG mistake.  Chairs and tables were slid to the side (SCREECH!) every morning at 0600 so they could hose down and scrub the deck.  No relief after complaining.  Sorry we gave up that nice mid-ship cabin on deck 8.

Thanks for your reply; sorry you had to move cabins.  The 2023 World Cruise is totally booked with waiting lists.  We too are on the waiting list to move from a suite below LaVeranda to something else.  The large balcony on a world Cruise is certainly inviting, but I do not want to be woken up early morning to screeching chairs.  We are hoping something will open up in the next 2+ years. Fingers crossed.
