Out for a walk in the woods.

Before we left to take the grandkids to the weekly open skating session, I had a great idea for a slow-shutter panning shot. I would have the kids skate past at speed and fire off a burst with the shutter set to about 1/25s. I decided that using the fisheye lens would add a creative point of view and a bit of challenge to the impromptu project. No plan survives first contact with the enemy. The enemy in this case was twofold. Matthew has taken skating to heart and is way faster than I expected. I also discovered that panning with a fisheye lens is like target shooting with a hand grenade. I used a lot of grenades. In the end, I got a couple of pretty good shots but this one was sort of unique in that only his face was followed well enough to remain sharp and in focus as he flew by.

For the milky way one, I was using an 8mm f/3.5 fisheye.  I took 5 two minute shots and stacked them together to bring up all the stars.  For the Andromeda one, I used a 50mm f/1.8.  There were 4 two minute shots stacked to make that one.  All were taken with a Canon T6i and a Slik ECH-630 Astro Tracker.

Thanks! That is way too sophisticated for me. I have no idea how to stack.  I have a hard enough time just trying to get a decent picture!
