Tenerife or Gran Canaria

do you like promenades and beaches? If so chose the Tenerife home port option because in Gran Canaria there is an almost 2 mile long beach and promenade about 20 minutes walk from where the ships docks, plus a multi story shopping arcade right there at the port

The Marella itineraries for the canaries are usually pretty similar. Both airports at Tenerife and gran canaria are ok and the ports are both good as well.  It depends where you want to spend a day visiting during your cruise, If you want a full day in Tenerife you need to board in Gran Canaria and vice versa if you want a full day in Gran canaria board in Tenerife.

Done two cruises from Tenerife, not had an issue. For some reason the in past it was significantly cheaper to pick up the cruise in Tenerife, but looking lately that doesn't seem the case now. Both islands have decent airports and I wouldn't be bothered which one I was starting from.
