Katwoman007 Posted November 3, 2020 #51 Share Posted November 3, 2020 Looks like no one is sailing this year!https://www.carnivalcorp.com/news-releases/news-release-details/carnival-corporations-north-american-brands-extend-pause-cruise?fbclid=IwAR01uPPXhAiiWjQJFwLyqmTQ-e6E_7jmsMUrtHiFleqacELzZiJdizLZC4w
Rare BirdTravels Posted November 3, 2020 #52 Share Posted November 3, 2020 Totally expected with the new framework regulations. Not enough time to complete the pre-requisites for December (and maybe beyond).
john1970 Posted November 3, 2020 #53 Share Posted November 3, 2020 Think of all those lovely big final payments they raked in when they knew that there was no chance of the cruises operating. Now passengers will have to wait weeks or months for their money back. We have been giving them an interest free loan. 2

Rare Roberto256 Posted November 5, 2020 #55 Share Posted November 5, 2020 Now that CCL has cancelled cruises through 31-December... Was there any advantage to waiting it out? (Until Princess cancelled, vs. cancelling yourself, earlier?)

If you booked with a nonrefundable deposit you could get your deposit and your final payment in cash. I don't know if they are still offering an extra % more if you take the refund in the form of an FCC. At this point that's not as an attractive option now as it was in March. At this point I would just take the cash and run. 1

2 cruises a year Posted November 6, 2020 #60 Share Posted November 6, 2020 59 minutes ago, caribill said: 25% FCC bonus if you get FCC instead of refund. 25% return on investment is very tempting. I love Princess, and want them to succeed. But there are too may things out of their (and all cruise lines) control. I find the risk vs return not very tempting.
