CCL Extends Pause In Operations

Carnival corporation has extended their pause in operations, across all brands, until at least December 31, 2020.

No surprise.  I think we will see most cruises winter cruises cancelled.  Hopefully start back up in the spring.

And now, we just have to look for their new round of cancellations and schedules if they are going to have to omit all cruises that are over 7 days.  Maybe??  Who knows??

Still no direct word from Princess regarding December cruise cancellations?  You think their notifications would have immediately followed Carnival Corp's announcement???   We were booked on the Dec 26th cruise on the Royal...

Just checked a web site that shows all Princess cruise still a go for December. All others have been removed. That is confusing for sure.

The announcement is on Princess's website, so I think it is just a matter of time until you receive an email.

I find it intriguing that they appear to not be refunding the deposit, and for anybody who got PVP for a non-NA voyage, then you're out that too. And casino bookings are still waiting to see what's going on, since that document doesn't include them.

Modification to my above comment regarding the deposit:

 

"If you paid us a deposit, we will return it as a Future Cruise Deposit to put toward your next cruise."

 

No idea if these are refundable as cash though; all my refunded deposits predate that line. Anybody gotten one back since they started saying that?

The start sailing date.... seams to be drifting in the wind...... still to put a peg in sand....

 

One someone   will say one day     we will start cruising....

but i would doubt is CCL first cruise will be in US  due to the continuing high numbers of new cases every day.

LOL. Just got the charges on my Princess Visa card today!!!    But I knew it was going to happen.  This way I get 125%!    It was only $2400 final pay so no big deal.  I have no cruises planned until Alaska in mid August, then 2 in September.  Should be back to somewhat normal by then 🤞🏻

That's what would have happened on our planned Princess cruise this past summer if we had not called our TA to cancel it one month prior to the date they cancelled it. We could see it was an impossible to go and cancelled when we had  only a small refundable deposit as opposed to having paid the entire fare and then have to wait for the refund. (It ended up taking just under 3 months.)

 

We were also glad we used EZ Air so we did not also have to deal with airlines for refunds.
