I sailed the Holiday back in the 2000's, it was old then, and I refused to book it again. BTW, I stopped saying "she was old" when I was a kid, used to get hit for remarks like that and I learned my lesson -females only get better, never old. Ships are another story..

mistycruiser Posted November 12, 2020 #12 Share Posted November 12, 2020 I took my maiden cruise on the Holiday the year she was launched in 1985. That's what got me hooked on cruising.
toad455 Posted November 12, 2020 #13 Share Posted November 12, 2020 Seajets, a Greek cruise line, has acquired 6 cruise ships recently. The once Holiday(most recently CMV's Magellan), plus HAL's Veendam & Maasdam, P&O's Pacific Aria & Oceana and CMV's Columbus. Seajets previously only operated Ferry services throughout Greece & Cyprus.

Speculation is that their owner has bought the ships as purely an investment (and not necessarily to operate them) and intends to resell them to new owners at a profit once the COVID pandemic passes and the value of the ships increase. St.Pete Posted November 28, 2020 #16 Share Posted November 28, 2020 Only ship I never made it to for a blizzard. Carnival was kind enough to offer us a replacement cruise on the "new" Ecstasy, with an upgrade.
quattrohead Posted January 15, 2021 #17 Share Posted January 15, 2021 MS Holiday/ MS Magellan has had her name changed to Mages. Likely on the way to be scrapped as she has a hole in the bottom.
