[Cruise] Games People Play

As a means of diversion and gaining knowledge, I'd like to know about the favorite group games/activities you have played onboard (please keep it positive and upbeat).  Because I've had so many cancelled cruises (I know, who hasn't), I have heard of / signed up for many of these activities, but with the exception of ship-sponsored trivia and scavenger hunts, have not been able to actually participate.  Sooo -- what is/are your favorite group-oriented activities on a cruise ship?

To start with, one that I was really looking forward to was Left-Center-Right.  I've actually purchased a set of LCR dice for use on my next cruise (#fingerscrossed).

The rules as I understand them:

1. Each person begins with $3 (3 $1 bills)

2. Each die (there are three) has the letters L, C, R, and three dots

3. The first person rolls three dice and takes the appropriate action for each of the dice:

L= pass $1 to the Left; R=pass $1 to the Right, C=put $1 in the Center (pot); Dot • = No action

4. The next player to the left rolls the dice.  As play progresses, a player will roll only the number of dice corresponding to the # of dollars they have remaining (up to three).  No dollars = no dice rolled.

5. Eventually as more $$ ends up in the Center (Pot), it will come down to 2 players; the last person who still has money wins the Pot.

NOTE 1: If you are out of money, you’re not out of the game as your neighbors are happy (?!) to pass $'s your way.

NOTE 2: I've read that you can also use regular dice, and just assign the L,C, and R to specific #s (like 4,5,6) and assign the Dots to the other #s on the die (like 1,2,3).  You can also use poker chips, candies, etc. in place of the bills (which, of course, don't have to be USD$ either)

When I played LCR on a cruise, we used dimes, not dollars.  Before we went, I bought a little pouch and put all my dimes in it.  I still had a lot of dimes left, last March.  I've been using them ever since, at stores that have had trouble getting coins for the cash register.

I only played with dollars and lost $97 but I enjoyed the games.

The ONLY games I've played were in the casino.....and the odds are NOT in your favor on a ship....it's definitely not even like Vegas.....more like Maryland casino rules.......a diversion, but not even close to being in your favor.

Who Am I Now?

Have only seen this a few times. It's really fun, but I imagine a lot of work.

Young (toddler/youth) pics of famous/well known people are displayed & numbered. You have a blank numbered sheet & x-number of minutes to write in your 'who they are as adults' answers. Most right wins.

That sounds like fun -- could even support social distancing!  Thanks, @MidwesternCruiser2!

The game is called: "What cruise rule do you have a go around for?"  The harder the rule and consequence, the more points you score for getting away with it.

Categories can range from boarding tricks and smuggling to on board dress code  to getting unwarranted priority perks.  How to hold deck lounges is another interesting category, as well as getting underaged minors adult privileges.
