Quest, Aug. 2021

Dos anyone have a clue what happened to the Quest sailing for early August from Dover to Montreal?  We were on it and it looks like it was cancelled,  but no official announcement from Seabourn.  Would love to know if they will have some new itinerary, an out and out cancel, etc.

I imagine they have put a halt on selling these cruises as they have the Encore for cruises over 7 days.  Doesn’t mean it is cancelled and they are reviewing options.  Sort of a hang tight situation.

Seabourn cancelled the Quest’s programme of Autumn 2021 cruises between Montreal and Boston, because of the restrictions on 7+ Day cruises accessing US ports. I guess if they’re not doing these then they don’t need the repositioning cruise to get Quest over there. Pity...

That is kind of what I thought, too.  But our cruise did not stop at any US port on the way to Montreal.  After ours, it did but ours did not.  Wonder what they are going to do with the ship??

Imagine there are a few options they can do with her between August 5th (ending in Dover) and November 7th when she sails from Miami through the Canal to start her South America/Antarctica season ...

• keep her in Europe to do various itineraries, then do a TA to end in Miami by November 7th
• bring her to Montreal and then do 7 day cruises to Boston and back, having her end in Miami by November 7th
• bring her from Dover to the Caribbean (no US ports) and have her sail down there until she needs to be in Miami by November 7th

Guess we'll see!

And here I thought that doing a simple "home port" cruise in the U.S. and Canada would be a great way to start cruising again.  Oh well, there's always 2022.
