A while ago, my son sent me this resin figurine of the CL4P-TRP robot character from the Borderlands video game series. "Claptrap” is a beloved/despised tin can full of annoyance and narcissism that despite his bombastic personality, is a consistent source of tongue-in-cheek humor throughout all three editions of the popular game. For those unfamiliar with Borderlands, it is set in the future when mankind has spread to the stars with  corporations competing for resources and “Vault Hunters” battling the baddies to unearth alien techno-loot left behind by earlier civilizations. It is cooperative and my son and I join forces often to vaporize the bad guys and collect piles of loot and seek the best guns. Perfect allegory for a dystopian 2020 Christmas.

I was a little behind in getting my photos from Dec 6th downloaded and sorted, as I was busy with Christmas decorations inside, plus some errands, work, and shopping...this weekend I went through and processed all my stuff from Dec 5th, 6th, and 11th - all days I got to spend out in the wetlands.

 

Here are some selections from the weekend of the 5th and 6th:

 

Great blue heron standing on a snag over the water:

 

Alligator cruising with his own camouflaged hunting hide:

 

Red-shouldered hawk standing up on a tall dead tree to look out over the whole wetlands:

 

A pair of raccoons walking the levee looking for food:

 

A green iguana, all dressed up in orange to attract a mate, and flashing that baggy dewlap to get some attention:

 

A baby banded water snake, just a few inches long, resting up on a bed of algae/moss and getting some sun:

 

A female belted kingfisher at the end of a branch, as a lookout over the water at the end of the day, just before sunset:
