I gather the cabins are climate controlled so should not be that much different to "normal" air conditioning?

Yes, and there's no reason to think even if RCI somehow altered it (doubtful, other than a different filtering material) that it would it affect its ability to keep the set temperature.

Thanks for posting all this very helpful information.  Do you know if there is any alternative to the contact tracing bracelet?  I am allergic to the material that most of those bracelets are made of and it looks similar to the wow bands that I definitely react to.

YOu just have to have it on you, I'm sure you don't have put to physically strap it on your wrist? just have it in your pocket ?

There was another photo shown (somewhere) of a sensor you could wear around your neck. Or maybe it is both? Link: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2762405-royal-restarts-in-singapore-with-cruises-to-nowhere/page/4/

No, the token that you hang around your neck is the tracetogether token given out by singapore's govt. If i read correctly, you need to have two tracers on you - (1) either the tracetogether (TT) token OR the TT App on your phone , and (2) the RCI tracelet thingy.

Thank you. I understand that now, but once I found the photo I was looking for, it was too late to edit my post to correct it properly.

Here’s a pic of the little bottles! No toothbrush as far as I can see though

Will drop by the casino later today! Not sure how they feel about photos though.

>>6. Immigration (I don’t know why since we’re not going anywhere)

Hi masteradept, thanks for answering, much appreciated!  Ooh la la, l'occitaine - ain't that posh 🙂 But i guess i'll have to bring our little toothbrushes then 🙂

As for immigration, Singapore waters is really narrow as it's a small country, so technically you'd be moving into international waters up the straits of malacca, hence the immigration .

Enjoy the rest of the day. Btw, Why didn't you take a longer cruise? So sad the laser tag doesn't seem to be on the cards. Oh, if you do play in the casino, may i know what's the table minimum for say, blackjack.?

I believe all RCL ships (and other cruiselines) all have built in shampoo/soap dispenser in the shower for environmental reasons.    You bring your own toothpaste, toothbrush and hair conditioner.    They will provide hand soap for sink as well as small bottles of hand lotion.

Ah I see, thanks for the tips sunshine!

No, sir - I'm not. Gathering info for our upcoming sailing in Jan 🙂 What about you? Are you on the ship?

No, that is why I asked my question.  The bands are used for tracing, so one would expect that they will be looking for all to be wearing them.  They won't be able to see it in a pocket, so that is why I asked if there was another option.  Where you said you were sure they wouldn't make you strap one on, I figured the only way to know that was if you were on the ship.

I'm sorry then, wrong choice of words on my part. I think masteradept suggested a lanyard?. Anyway I realised someone else had already answered your posts but I can't delete my posts here. Cheers!

No worries!  We are scheduled to sail Quantum in May, so am just trying to see what is up with all the new requirements.  I am sure we will find out what is available other than the wrist band way before we possibly sail.  Peace. 🙂

I just went back and looked at the pic of that bracelet. It looks like you should be able to thread a safety pin through one end and pin it to a shirt or pants. Would that work for you?

As long as it doesn't directly touch my skin, I am good.  I can't even wear my Fit Bit, I get hives.  I wore a Wow band for an hour and started to itch crazy, so don't want to even try these.  I will bring a lanyard to hang it from or something like that.  I just think they will likely be looking for people having them on, so I think it will need to be visible.

Thanks for the comments! Ah that explains the immigration I guess, if it’s required for international waters. We actually went the other way though! Out East past Tekong and into the South China Sea. On World Dream last week we did go into the Straits of Malacca. I noticed that Quantum is still sailing fast, while World Dream stopped once she got into the strait.

Wish this cruise was longer too, but we booked it because it was the first! We’ve got two more trips lined up which are 3N and 4N though, so lots of time to enjoy (this is what happens when you can’t fly anywhere and the country is so small domestic travel is limited to Jurong to Punggol and back).

So glad to see trivia going on. It’s one of my favourite things to do on a ship, and I was really worried it might not come back, not just because of social distancing but also because I didn’t expect most locals to be interested.

Turnout was pretty good though!
