Favorite hang out place on MSC Divina

I have never sailed on the Divina. Not yet. Am booked on three sailings in 2021 on this ship.

My question is. What is your favorite place to hang out on the MSC Divina and why?

I plan to have 14 days total in 2021 on three sailings. Cancellations can always change that.  Like to hear places I should not miss while on board.

The Sports Bar on the Divina is a favorite of ours. (Except when kids are bowling.) Whenever we have been on the Divina the food there has been free and delicious. You get to know the Bar Staff. Lunch/afternoons fairly busy. We often ate dinner there we enjoyed it that much and a quieter time.

To clarify. I AM NOT booked in the YC. So I am looking at places the general public can hang out . Thank you

Agree about the Italian Square, really nice place also. At the end of the Bar there is a case holding various snacks and cakes throughout the day. So if you have a beverage package you can enjoy “afternoon” tea there, or whatever you choose. Or you can pick up tea/coffee from buffet and bring it down to this really lovely place to sit. Often live music there.

Have sailed on her 11 times. Most of my time was spent in the Black & White Lounge (good Wifi there) and the Sports Bar. I totally agree with @cellfree about the food there. One of the previous Bar Managers onboard had mentioned they wanted to start charging for the food. I hope not. Guess we will see when she returns. I'll be back on her October 3rd myself.

When you mentioned the Yacht Club I remember that just outside the Yacht Club sundeck on deck 18 there is a small area, I think there were two or maybe three sunbeds there and that looked like a nice quite place to spend some time out in the sun.

Divina was my first on MSC (Dec 2018).  Thought she was beautiful, but a bit too large for my tastes.  11 night sailing and on that last sea day, I kept coming across areas I hadn't even seen before!

I was solo but sailing with friends.  About 12-13 of us would meet in the Silver Lounge every evening for before-dinner drinks.

When I was on my own during the day (usually trying to find somewhere relatively quiet so I could sit and read), I found myself in a corner of the piano bar or the Golden Jazz Bar.

That's the way I felt last January when I was on Meraviglia.  And, I know there were some venues/areas that I never got to.  A 7 day cruise does not allow for sufficient time to do such exploring on such large ships unless, of course. that is one's purpose in doing so.

By any chance...do you smoke cigars?  If so...the most underused room on the ship is the beautiful smoking lounge port side next to the casino.  This room is beautiful and most people don’t know it’s there.  I actually bought a cigar in Jamaica so I could smoke it in the lounge.  I hadn’t smoked a cigar in 15 years.  It was so peaceful that I actually fell asleep.  A very well spent afternoon on Divina.

11 times on the MSC Divina?  I think that's quite an endorsement.  I'm sailing MSC for the first time on MSC Divina for a short trip in September.  This is good to know - I keep hearing great things about the food in the sports bar.  I've heard (on a vlog) the food is free if you purchase a drink.  Is that consistent with your experience?

We have never found you had to purchase a beverage to get free food there. You will find lunch is a really busy time and maybe even more so on a shortened cruise. We have enjoyed “dinner time” there when choosing not to go to Dining Room. But as with everything ‘post covid’ who knows whether or not food will be free and/or offered there.

We really enjoyed the cafe that was located near the theater (hopefully I'm remembering that correctly). They served coffee and gelato which often went well together after dinner but before a show. The drum music was sometimes a little overpowering but that wasn't a nightly issue. We also really enjoyed the theater. The shows were nice, but as a film buff I was overjoyed their weeklong Jake Nicholson showcase every night around 10pm or 1030pm. Honestly I was bit disappointed when were on the Meraviglia because they didn't do anything like that.

They show late night movies in the theater on Divina? I wonder if this is still the plan?  Any idea where I can get planners that might list movies?

They did in fall of 2017. No idea if they still do or how to check on that. Perhaps the most "recent" daily programs would shed some light on the topic.
