sandancer Posted February 20, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2021 Having read various posts/comments about Sweet 16 cabins but not sure exactly what it means or how to find one. What makes a cabin a sweet 16? We have booked cabin 6048 on the Millennium. Is that one of these cabins?
marieps Posted February 20, 2021 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2021 (edited) Hi Elaine, The sweet sixteen cabins on M class are the very far forward balconies on Deck 6. They offer a double size veranda. You are mid ship not not a sweet sixteen, but it looks like a large diagonal balcony. Best you you and our favorite retired firefighter. jelayne Posted February 20, 2021 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2021 (edited) The sweet 16 are the 8 2C cabins 6016-6030 on the starboard side and the 8 2C's 6021-6035 on the port side. Edited February 20, 2021 by jelayne

Auntiemomo Posted February 20, 2021 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2021 Of course, if you are out on the extended portion of the balcony, everyone from above can look down on your veranda.

Same problem when I'm sitting by the pool.
marieps Posted February 20, 2021 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2021 We actually had one when we sailed with the OP on Connie in 2012.

It's not an angled balcony. It's just an extended balcony, double the size of a normal balcony. Skivvies or not, you still lose privacy. I was just providing information to the OP and for those other than you know-it-alls. 😉

Glendakayself Posted February 21, 2021 #13 Share Posted February 21, 2021 We have sailed several times in a Sweet 16. We have never worried about privacy. Yes, the folks above us could see us, but we could see them and even talked to them. We once had a corner family veranda and could see the pent house balcony below. The FV above us could see us. We talked to both neighbors.

This would be for a family of 7 (grandparents, parents, teenagers)

On the other hand if you hold both opposite corner FVs for a scenery intensive cruise (e.g. Alaska), you pretty much have all views from the ship covered. Rare Essiesmom Posted April 25, 2023 #16 Share Posted April 25, 2023 The Sweet 16 cabins have the double balcony, but you will be lucky to get three chairs, much less a lounger. Plus the balcony partitions do not open/connect.
jelayne Posted April 25, 2023 #17 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Hands down the family verandas, the sweet 16 cabins are small. The FBs are larger cabins with large verandas.
kathynorth Posted April 25, 2023 #18 Share Posted April 25, 2023 We’ve stayed in both type cabins. We’d definitely go with the family veranda. Much more room to spread out, especially with the teens.
