Favorite Foods/Restaurants

What are your favorite must-try foods (even drinks) or restaurants around these two islands?  I’m a big foodie and love to try new foods and dishes especially when traveling to areas I’ve never been before.

Not sure how many of our favorites survived between the hurricanes and the pandemic, I know two are gone from Irma...

We’ll check back with locals on TA for updates once cruising starts returning...

Local foods include: boiled or fried (whole) fish. Stewed or curried chicken, mutton, conch. Caribbean lobster (no claws). Oxtail.Souse. Soups- chicken, red pea, kallaloo. Saltfish. Side dishes include: plantain, fungi, macaroni and cheese, peas and rice, potato stuffing. Johnny cake.

 

Jerk chicken is not a Virgin Islands dish.

 

I know I forgot some, but that's at least a start.😉
