Atlas Ocean Voyages Travel Insurance

Has anyone received  info regarding the travel insurance plans  that Atlas will offer? 

1. Atlas Ocean Voyages (AOV) announced that the brand would include return-to-home insurance and emergency medical evacuation (medevac) for all passengers when we booked. Now their Terms only mention emergency medical evacuation. That is a big deletion.

2. Atlas Terms and Conditions mentions supplemental travel insurance that we can purchase but no one at Atlas can inform us what these plans are and the cost.

"Travel Insurance |  We highly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes Medical and Baggage Protection, as well as Trip Cancellation/Interruption insurance to cover the full purchase price of the cruise, including air and land program costs.  Your Travel Agent can provide additional information regarding these insurance programs, specifically designed, and economically priced exclusively for our guests."

We were wondering the same thing. 

My husband and I booked back in January, when the included insurance was listed on their website.  

Yet, stated in our reservation documents, travel insurance is our responsibility.

 

If one googles "Atlas ocean voyage return to home insurance", one can still find the advertised Atlas travel insurance.

I would assume that the terms and conditions and all benefits that Atlas advertised when the booking was made would have to be honored. we'll see. Their website has other contridictory info.

Hi Keokukjoe, i guess medevac is not included in AVO.  Like you, we had paid in full, and are looking forward to our TA with Atlas. 

However, the changes, the lack of communication and not honoring what they advertised are concerning and disappointing.  We will give them the benefit of the doubt.  It is a mad time to start a brand new cruise line.

Under "Terms and Conditions" on the AOV website, Medical Evac Insurance IS still included and during multiple  recent Webinars, Atlas states that Medical Evac AND Return to Home Insurance is included. Hope this helps.

Fares | Fares are quoted in U.S. dollars, are per person, and are based on double occupancy.  Fares include all standard shipboard services and facilities plus all select alcoholic beverages, gratuities for housekeeping, dining, and bar staff. A choice of land excursions in every port is also included in the cruise fare, along with private charter jet service for all Antarctica sailings, and economy roundtrip intercontinental airfare and airport transfers for all other destinations. Medical Evacuation Insurance is also included. The Cruise Fare does not include cruise port tax, security, navigation, berthing, stevedoring, or baggage handling/storage charges. Additionally, it does not include fuel surcharges, fees, or charges imposed by governmental or quasi-governmental authorities, shore excursions, sightseeing or meals ashore, taxes, visa fees, laundry or valet service, or any item or service whatsoever. Lastly, it does not include medical treatment, expenses incurred on board or ashore in connection with medical treatment, medical condition, medical debark, or spa services for which separate charges may be imposed.
