Recommended Posts

Pictures taken between Monday, April 19 and Sunday, April 25.

Things are starting to open up! Get out there and take pictures!

Rules: See above

That's it. This isn't a contest.

All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising).

Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize.

The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays.

Post one. Post many. Up to you.

Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others!

Saturday was a little on the warm side, but the bird and wildlife action was wonderful in the wetlands...spring brings all kinds of chicks hatching and growing...so that was the main thing to see.

Red-winged blackbird chicks screaming for food:

Wood duck mom with her ducklings all lined up on a log with her:

A closeup look at the very adorable ducklings of the wood duck:

The lovely black-necked stilts are just gathering to start their nests soon:

Having taken a day off for our second Moderna shot and an appointment, we decided to visit a local legend for breakfast. My first visit to Flo’s Airport Café was in the mid-'60s with my Dad after a run to the airport to pick up some parts for his job. Bill Bailey’s Surplus is gone now but honestly, the airport doesn’t feel much different now than it did then and hardly at all since the last time we were there 15 or so years ago. Minus the new cars, this photo could have been taken in any of the last five decades. Inside, Flo’s has made the Covid adjustments but the pictures on the walls, most of the menu choices and the overall feel of the place have changed little. Nostalgia served in the form of a chili-cheese omelet, hash browns and Flo’s biscuits and gravy is happy nostalgia!
