To anyone who has sailed on the Sky Princess. Is a type C adapter required to use the European outlets above the desk?

Gday, you may get a response by asking the question on Princess Board. Were on sister ship Royal Princess in 2018, we had one of those multi country adaptors, fitted no problems.

Yes, you will neen a European plug adaptor (type C) to use the European circuits onboard. Those circuits are 220 volt so be careful what you plug into them. Most device chargers are OK as they are designed to work from 110-240 volts and that is usually printed somewhere on the charger. However some appliances, especially hair appliances, that are rated only for 110 volts, should never be plugged into a 220 volt socket as they can overheat or blow up. Luckily most cruise ships have both types of circuits so it's just a case of plugging things into the right one.

You should be aware that most cruise lines (at least the better ones) have converters and power strips that you can borrow from the Reception Desk or from your Cabin Steward.

These do not alter the voltage, but allow you to connect to the European-style outlets.
