wjfan417 Posted April 30, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2021 We just booked the December 4 cruise from Barbados. Does anyone have any hotel recommendations close to the port? Diana

TrapperZimmy Posted April 30, 2021 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2021 We have always stayed at the Hilton, too. Nice pool. Rooms face the beach. And you can walk to Lobsters Alive. A short cab ride into town and the port.

JES4845 Posted May 2, 2021 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2021 Unanimous so far - stayed at the Hilton several times - both day room waiting for late afternoon departure on the back end but also before a voyage. Easy from the airport, ditto from hotel to port, and lots of taxis to more distant restaurants etc.
Ragnar Danneskjold Posted May 3, 2021 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2021 (edited) If you stay at the Hilton, or even if you don’t, walk out to just past the entrance and get get yourself a couple of Cuz’s fish sandwiches. He has a shack there where he whips them up fresh, assuming covid hasn’t shut him down. Go early because he goes home when he runs out of fish. And there will likely be a line. Get his special cheese, and lay on some Bajan pepper sauce and mayo. Grab a beer and sit on the log. http://cuzsfishshack.restaurantsnapshot.com Ahhh, dream’n of Barbados... strawbs1 Posted May 6, 2021 #7 Share Posted May 6, 2021 I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Little Arches, a boutique hotel with only 10 rooms/suites but absolutely phenomenal. The rooftop restaurant is fantastic too. Oh, I would SO recommend it!!!!!
commander courageous Posted May 16, 2021 #8 Share Posted May 16, 2021 Ditto Little Arches. For more upscale, try The House. Travelling on Sea Dream and staying at the Hilton, no thanks!

But for a stay Close to the Airport and Cruise Terminal, for a 1/3 nights then Little Arches, but for 7 nights or more The House also gets our vote. But if willing to go further afield, take a look at the Coral Reef
Mike in AR Posted May 17, 2021 #10 Share Posted May 17, 2021 Very helpful as we just booked a cabin for the voyage departing from Barbados on Dec 4th. It's been 4 years since we've been on Seadream. Looking forward to the trip.

No hotel will meet the standards of the ship.
SWFLAOK Posted May 25, 2021 #12 Share Posted May 25, 2021 We stayed at the Hilton last time we took a cruise out of Barbados (on Silversea). We made the mistake of staying 2 nights since we wanted to spend a day in Bridgetown, which we enjoyed in the past. The Hilton seemed to have many day guests, and had a large business meeting during the day that we were there. We arrived late due to a large delay clearing at the airport (3 large flights arrived at once), and by the time we checked in, and put our luggage in our room, the bar was the only thing open, and had no food to offer other than a few bags of chips. On our last Sea Dream cruise leaving from Barbados, we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot, and enjoyed that stay much more than the Hilton. We didn't have an ocean view, although some rooms do, but they had food and drinks available in the lobby, a great bar out front to the right, and a great restaurant out front to the left. We're foodies and we really enjoyed Buzo's Osteria. There's a roof top pool that no one uses, and beach access across the street.
Ragnar Danneskjold Posted June 11, 2021 #13 Share Posted June 11, 2021 We stayed at the Hilton for three days and had no complaints, other than too loud of music on scratchy speakers near the pool bar in the evening. The pool looked nice and the beach was pretty. But we used neither of them because, though it was mid-March, we felt like we were bursting into flames when we moved out of the shade! Even with sunscreen slathered on. We are from Southern California, but that sun in the southern Caribbean was unbearable (to us anyway). So we got with the concierge and she hooked us up with tours of the Mt Gay distillery, the caverns, the flower forest, the monkey haven, etc. Those were all great and allowed us to escape that infernal sun. Same issue on our beach bbq day on Mayreau (sp?), we never set foot in the water, just cowered in the shade of the palm trees, drinking copious foo-foo drinks... The air temp was pleasant, but the sun was like a blast-furnace. You gotta have a pretty tough hide to handle that south Caribbean sun... We would only go back to that area in December or January.
