logan25 Posted May 1, 2021 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2021 I will assume the vaccination is offered and not mandatory. But someone in the know would have to clarify. https://cruisefever.net/cruise-line-begins-to-vaccinate-all-crew-members/
Homosassa Posted May 1, 2021 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2021 Just a note: Florida has dropped the residency requirement for obtaining the vaccine in the state due to a high supply of vaccine and low demand. Hopefully, this will make it easier for crews of Florida based cruise ship to be vaccinated.

I think I read that 98% of the crew and 95% of the passengers will be required to have up-to-date vaccinations. I wish I remembered were I read that today!! Homosassa Posted May 2, 2021 #9 Share Posted May 2, 2021 Port of Miami has a pop up vaccination clinic for crew. It opened yesterday and will run for the next week. The Meravigilia is in Miami as I post this. Hopefully crew is being vaccinated and the ship will operate under the required vaccinations for passengers and crew as suggested by the CDC. Before any screams of outrage are posted about Florida prohibiting vaccinations and vaccination status, educate yourself and actually read the Executive Order and proposed law (I don't know if it was signed). Requiring of the vaccinations are allowed and covered in the statements about public health and mandates from the state and federal government.
Cruising89143 Posted May 3, 2021 #10 Share Posted May 3, 2021 Depending on how one wants to interpret the below article it seems that MSC would like all crew members vaccinated. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/24909-msc-cruises-starts-covid-19-vaccination-program-for-crew.html https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/crew-crewing/msc-cruises-begins-vaccinating-crew-europe-and-us-rollout-plan-inoculate-full-fleet

Google "cruise 95%" and you'll get many hits.

This is why Florida is not allowing vaccination passports. They will not stand in the way for the cruise industry, which has to adhere to federal guidelines. The vaccination discrimination has started: https://kimatv.com/news/local/inslee-says-fully-vaccinated-people-will-get-special-treatment-for-sports-performances Of bigger concern is access to grocery stores and other essential services. A great example of bureaucracy at work. The US apparently has 60 million AZ doses, but won't release them to other countries, who are already using them, until some head of some dept says it is OK. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/ap-exclusive-us-share-astrazeneca-vaccines-world-77321415 WASHINGTON -- The U.S. will begin sharing its entire stock of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines with the world once it clears federal safety reviews, the White House said Monday, with as many as 60 million doses expected to be available for export in the coming months.
MotownVoice Posted May 4, 2021 #18 Share Posted May 4, 2021 I'm not sure why anyone would "assume" that anyone can get on a working cruise ship, whether they're passengers or crew, and not be required to demonstrate their inoculation against Covid. It will be required. Get used to it. By the time the cruise lines are up and running full time in every country again, there will be a passport based on your having received a Covid vaccine that YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRESENT. Your US Constitutional Liberties apply to you in the public square and protect you from being oppresed by the Federal Government. When you walk in to a grocery store, or a fast food restaurant, or on to a cruise ship, your perceived liberties evaporate. (I swear, this is why I see so many Americans grabbing at dinner rolls before someone else can get them, or pushing their way in to the front of the line getting on to the excursion buses. It's because they believe as Americans they have some sort of protected right to everything.)
Debde Posted May 4, 2021 #19 Share Posted May 4, 2021 (edited) I found this on another thread: I have asked what proof MSC require on checkin re fully vaccinated and been informed. Quote Please be advised that proof required for both vaccinations is the vaccination NHS card showing vaccine batch and date you received. end quote I can not see why MSC will not require crew and 95% passengers as required by the CDC to resume cruising and bypass these test cruises in the US. Jules-I see your October and my November looking real good!!😀 Edited May 4, 2021 by Debde
