nyk24 Posted May 10, 2021 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2021 My 6 year old recently got diagnosed with autism (ASD). I was just wondering how MSC handle special needs and is there an email address or phone number I can contact MSC about it in advance? Thanks in advance. optimusprime82 Posted May 10, 2021 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2021 MOBILITY, MEDICAL AND DIETARY REQUIREMENTS Children with Special Needs Children with special needs have normal access to all on-board services and facilities. Although the entertainment staff do not offer a childcare service, they are trained to provide a wide range of entertainment aimed specifically at children. All children, including those with special needs, are assigned to a certain entertainment area depending on their age. If necessary, children or young people with special needs can be placed with a lower age group (with the agreement of their parents), or they can take part in specific activities, together with their parents if required. pmd98052 Posted May 10, 2021 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2021 They have a form you can fill out where extra help is needed. I just had shoulder surgery and our oldest child (15) has Austism+ADHD so we've filled those in request some assistance for both of us!
MotownVoice Posted May 10, 2021 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2021 I had to contact MSC for a special needs (CPAP machine water refills). They're extremely accomodating, but it takes a few days or more for them to respond. Not usually an issue unless your cruise is in the next couple of weeks. But here's the email address from which I've been getting all my corrospondences:MSCExistingReservations@msccruisesusa.com
SeaHunt Posted May 10, 2021 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2021 Though this CC article does not mention MSC (yet), I thought I'd pass it along as interesting reading about Autism cruises 😊 https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=2366
