Insurance Brokers

Has anyone ever used a broker and if so, were they worth the cost?

Whilst we are happy with our present insurance provider reading what other people with medical issues are paying, I think we might be paying over the odds.  Because we are over 70 with medical health issues we have to ring companies every time to find out the actual cost of cover and I'm wondering whether a broker would save us time and perhaps even money.

I would only use a broker for travel insurance if they have a dedicated health/travel department. It has become a very specialist field, and a minefield at the moment, apart from being so much more expensive now.
