JJCas Posted July 3, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2021 We have a casino booked cruise on the Equinox in December. Its our first time on Celebrity after many NCL and a few Royal and Holland America cruises. We booked through the casino, and it turned out to be cheaper to put our kids (17 and 19) in an inside room across the hall, rather than booking them in the concierge room with us. On NCL, we normally all go to the dining room for embarkation lunch (sort of a tradition, when my son was young he would say that was the last "fancy" meal he was having. Then he would disappear into the kids club and we wouldnt see him for a week ). I see there is a concierge lunch on board, I was wondering if we will be able to bring the kids with us? jelayne Posted July 3, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2021 My guess old be that if you arrive at the dining and explain you are a family on 1 booking the children will be allowed to join you. Celebrity now has assigned boarding times, which you can select or are assigned when you complete on-line check-in. These times probably run from 11:30-3:30 so not everyone will get a time that works with lunch. If you miss the Concierge lunch you can lunch at the Oceanview buffet, the Mast Grill ( burgers, fries, etc. near the pool) or Le Grand Bistro- charge applies. There are other venues, Eden Cafe, Raw on Five, Spa Cafe but I don’t know if they are open on embarkation day or for what hours.

Concierge lunch postponed until tomorrow on 1st Silhouette sailing.

The whole point of the lunch is to avoid the mobs elsewhere and have a nice relaxed meal. Hopefully this was a one-off and not Celebrity's plan for future cruises. Justifying a concierge cabin over a veranda cabin has been increasingly difficult of late, and taking away one of the few remaining perks of any value will simply mean avoiding them.

No mobs with reduced passenger numbers. 1st embarkation time was 12 noon. From what I have read, the emphasis at the port, were the Health & Safety checks. Fouremco Posted July 3, 2021 #6 Share Posted July 3, 2021 It would have been easy to assign early embarkation times to Concierge passengers and still maintain the emphasis on Health and Safety. It will be interesting to see how this develops in the following weeks.
Northern Aurora Posted July 3, 2021 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2021 Returning to the OP's question, since both B2B passengers and Zenith members of the Captain's Club can also attend the embarkation day Concierge Class luncheon, I suspect that if they ask politely their two kids will be allowed to attend. I suspect that the ship needs deep cleaning after previous passengers have disembarked.

I'm looking for solutions, not obstacles.
