Love cruising close to land (bins to see landmarks etc.) Not too bothered about using the buffet but like deck quoits, shuffleboard, table tennis, short tennis etc. & the pool. In the evening we quite like the shows and syndicate quiz. Generally go ballroom dancing ( prefer a band rather than recorded music.) Don’t think we’ve ever watched a film in our cabin (oops, stateroom.) Will we find many of our chosen activities still on? Most activities are still going on. Our cabin was on the starboard side, so nice views of the coast going and sitting on the balcony in the afternoon sun coming home dolphin spotting was very pleasant, we even spotted a couple of blue sharks. Covid protocols worked well, even a little bit OTT, but fine. The app didn't work on my android phone, but worked ok on DW's iPhone. 2 weeks we can go again,, this time for 4 nights. Much better than no cruise at all. Most folk seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully things will get more normal soon. Nothing negative really. Lots of happy smiley crew. We didn't get to see Toyah Willcox, but hey ho !.

My train home is at 11:27 so I don't wanna be sitting around in Southampton TOO long 🙂 We were amongst the last off. That was about 9.30.

When we were on Britannia last week we didn't see deck quoits, shuffleboard or table tennis being played at all. From memory (not our thing) dancing was advertised as 'to a CD'.

You just asked at the desk by the pools on the Lido deck.

You may know them as shuffleboard where you use a long stick and a wooden puck, but they also have "quoits", which can be little weighted bags or knotted rope rings, which are thrown underhand onto the same sort of grid painted on the deck. But I would pay extra to watch wowzz chew his arm off.😉 Edited July 25, 2021 by terrierjohn
Rare debsjc Posted July 25, 2021 #143 Share Posted July 25, 2021 (edited) Do we know who will be in The Limelight Club in August please? Also, is The Retreat open, and how much is it? Edited July 25, 2021 by debsjc
Guest Posted July 25, 2021 #144 Share Posted July 25, 2021 Never played a deck game, but played a few games of Bocce on the Lawn Club of a few Celebrity Solstice class ships! Does anyone know if they are still doing the archery competitions on P&O? Hoping they could be sanitised fairly easily?

HikingPete Posted July 26, 2021 #147 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Can't say I've ever played deck games. If anyone happens to be on Iona on the Northern Europe trip in December, I'm up for being taught!

lynn2002 Posted July 26, 2021 #149 Share Posted July 26, 2021 For those who have been in the casino or walked through it, how do they social distance on the tables? Do we wear masks at the card tables?

I am hoping to get in a few hours of Blackjack on my cruise and have not played since January 2020.
