July 25, 2021 Live From Majestic Princess Alaska sailing

Recommended Posts

Again, thank you to everyone on the ship for posting. We really appreciate your time!

Has anyone been able to confirm if you can use the PDP for your room? Is it via room service or can you use DMW to have a drink delivered to your room without an extra change?

Mahalo and cheers!

They are already paperless by default, but your steward asks what you prefer. The new printed Patter is very nice and compact - no pages of sales ads!

Thanks so much for posting the Patter.  It will help those after you decide on dining times.

Did they first day Patter list the ship's officers?  If so, could someone report on that please?

Thanks.

First day Patter was posted earlier in this thread. No list of officers.

Patter says more info about the day is on the app. Maybe the app showed the officers?

The east side of Vancouver island is too narrow for cruise ships.  You are following the standard route.

All cruise ships to Alaska from Vancouver BC go on the east side of Vancouver Island (the real inside passage) lol.

Is the International Cafe' "fully" open, i.e., 24 hours a day, the usual food and beverage offerings, etc.? It's my favorite spot on any Princess ship!

Posted Patter says on the back page it is open 24 hours.

Given how quickly it looks like boarding went, I'm not sure anybody will be able to answer this. Did anybody who's on the ship now notice anybody getting denied boarding because of rejected vaccination records?

I would also like to know this. There are whole threads dedicated to our fears that our Vax card won't be enough at the gate.

Is there an outlet under the head of the bed? US or EU? For our CPAPS, Thanks

Yes...would like to know this as well.  If so, is it European style or US?

This shows the under the head of the bed outlet from Sky Princess which was the ship built after Majestic & hopefully someone onboard can verify if Majestic is the same.

As I recall that cord was for one of the bed’s end table lamps.

In my basic Obstructed Balcony room there is only one outlet on the right side there that would work for you. One US and one Euro style plug. This would likely work for one machine, or you’d need an outlet splitter.

There is no outlet available on the other side unless you pull out the bed and unplug a lamp. Of note is that the lamps on the nightstands are fixed and do not move out of the center, taking away some of your table top space.

Posting a question for my hubby.  Are they still putting bars of soap in the staterooms or have they gone to all liquid soap as they had on the Sky?  Just trying to figure out if we should add bars of soap to our packing list.  Thanks in advance!

We have been following your adventures on the cruise. Out of the entire Princess fleet the Majestic is the only ship without an updated Bridge Cam image, it still shows the ship in Seattle on July 22.  Please let the passenger desk know. It is a confidence builder seeing an updated image.  We will be sailing on the Majestic soon. Thanks!! :)

I take it from the previously posted screen shot of the MC app that you can see the current position and track of the Majestic. Is that the case?

That is not in the Princess app that I know of, and I did look. Use an app called MarineTraffic that lets you view all vessels anywhere in the world.

We have the little circle soap bars in the bathroom, along with the liquid soap bottle in the shower.

We aren’t looking great this morning. Picture updates are pretty slow.

@ChangeOrder I was just curious if the app had the ability for passengers. I have used MarineTraffic, but like"crusin" a bit better. They get the data from MarineTraffic, but I find "crusin" a bit more friendly.

We'd be interested in opinions of the production shows at night. In the past, some are good, others not so. We want to see the comedian that was on last night, so we changed our dinner reservation. Not so sure about the show for tonight.

Thanks, and hope you are having a great time.

We saw BRAVO several times on different ships. Always wonderful !

The Alaska cruises have very slow internet, compared to what you can get in the Caribbean or Europe. We are just too far north for good satellite connection. Based on what I’m seeing I would definitely not be able to work reliably. Meetings aren’t going to work, but email and chat works fine on my phone.

I tried loading up my VDI as a test, and no - that’s not feasible.

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered but I cannot find it anywhere.  Are only Princess excursions allowed or can you get off the ship and wander?

Thanks so much for the answer - enjoy your cruise!!!!

They do not require escorted tours. Get off and wander, or book your own tours.
