Looking for some good American type dinner (diner) food in Port Canaveral open until at least 7 or 8pm no seafood and not fancy. Sailing with kids and we'll have a car staying at Home2Suites.

I know about Kelsey's...anything else ?

the popular port places are just off my map to the north BUT I do not recommending walking as you'd have to cross 528 / A1A and traffic really MOVES thru this area .... and after dark the path is DARK

but it would be a very short and inexpensive uber or taxi

I had lunch at Grills yesterday . . .

Some very nice restaurants in the Port.

PLEASE NOTE - The port has two parts, a cruise port and a more public area of the port that some ships are now using.

Up until a few years ago, ALL cruise ships used the A section and everything else in B, like fishing boats and the dinky casino boat

Oh I’m sure they do.  My daughter does not eat seafood & I remember some type of chicken and beef skewer that she loved!  For me, best fish tacos I’ve had in a long time.  I also have no doubt there’s a kids menu.  Actually there is not one listed on line but there are burgers and chicken sandwiches

I thought they might have other options and hopefully a kids menu ??

Just looked at their menus and there's lots of seafood, but there are other options as well.  Ribs, steaks, chicken, salads for example.  I did not see a kids menu on their web site.

Next trip to Port Canaveral area, I'm going to try Grills.  I like the island type decor that I saw.

Hmmm...No kids menu, that's probably a deal breaker for our group. But thanks.

Check out Rusty’s Seafood.  It’s just down from Grills at the port.  It has a pretty big kids menu.  Friends of ours ate there last week and really enjoyed it.

I knew that in the past this restaurant offered a Lionfish menu at times.  Reviewing their menus yesterday reminded me of this.  Do you know the time of year when such fish might be available?  I'd be tempted to order an appetizer of the fish just for the experience.

I was there Sunday and they did not have lion fish .....

you always need to ask as this is not a fish caught 'commercially' but is an invasive species and GRILLS support eradication by buying catch from divers .... BUT the divers must obtain a commercial fishing lic' to sell the fish ....... 🙃

it is a mild white fish ..... I enjoy it as do most dive masters thru out the Carib ... a free meal when you can get a group catching for you! ......

They absolutely must have some sort of kids menu - I've seen them serve the kids meals on a frisbee.

We eat there several times a week and I'm allergic to shellfish and don't eat any seafood at all.  Tonight I had a burger, no bun.  They have chicken tenders, burgers, salads, tacos (and not just fish - I get chicken tacos), wings, etc.  Also the steak or chicken kabobs are delicious.  Grills is also our favorite place for breakfast.
