CLS/KAS Posted December 3, 2021 #26 Share Posted December 3, 2021 I have been in contact with the taxi service I use in St. Kitts. as of a few weeks ago, You are . allowed to use private taxi service 's, as long as they are cleared by the govt. of course the Cruise lines are not going to tell you this, because they want ALL the $$ they can get from the excursions, they don't care about the locals, and will not inform their passengers, because they know people will use them.. (cheaper/ better tour) I am going in early Feb. planning on using them anyone going sooner?

Has happened a few times already Yes - that's the fear - I am happy to do ship excursions if we must - but usually prefer and arrange my own independent tours - don't want to do anything that is 'against' the rules and end up being left behind - that would not be good!!! Stevanb Posted December 21, 2021 #33 Share Posted December 21, 2021 We are going to us the Celebrity Cruise excursion. Just a three hour one to get off the ship for a while have been to ST Kitts many times so really nothing we have not seen but sitting on the ship at port can get boring
Rare GotMINI Posted February 27, 2022 #34 Share Posted February 27, 2022 CLS/KAS: Can you share the taxi service you have used? We've been to St. Kitts before and have used Liz Peria's Tours, however we heard she passed away about 2 years ago and I cannot tell if anyone has taken over the business. We are a party of 3 and just want taxi service to/from Carambola. Not interested in any side tours/excursions. Don't mind paying extra to have guaranteed pickups at dock and then from resort later in day. From what I recall the taxi "line" at the port was quite aggressive and would like to avoid that hustle if possible. Thanks!
SherriZ366 Posted February 28, 2022 Author #35 Share Posted February 28, 2022 Does anyone know if the St. Kitt's Marriott has reopened and if they are offering Day Passes? We are sailing on a Harmony Cruise that stops there in August.

St. Kitts was on our itinerary for our 8-22-2021 Allure cruise but they changed it to St. Maarten. so this will be our first time in St. Kitts. I hope the Marriott is open for day passes. My friends always go there and it has a casino if my husband gets bored on the beach.

When I read the official statement from the St Kitts government it states that all tours must be arranged by the hotel concierge. I assume that means that cruise ship visitors must book through the ship? I hope that rule is changed by the time we get there. We hope to go to Caribelle Batik and Romney Manor, then on to the beach.

So not sure why you could not do the same in 2023?
lynncarol Posted April 4, 2022 #40 Share Posted April 4, 2022 just there less than two weeks ago and no restrictions a all. Took independent tour of the island with Leo's Tours and Taxi Service. Email christopherom@yahoo.com. This was the second time we have used his services and remain very pleased. His grandmother was an avid herbologist (sp?) and if you are interested, he will stop and show you many medicinal plants growing wild that are still used today by the locals. 1
