Marella 2023 Asia

Recommended Posts

Hi, a group of us had been looking at Asia in 2022 Jan/Feb last year but were unable to go.

I can now see these are no longer showing and although some 2023 sailings are out there doesnt appear to be any to Asia.

Does anyone know why this is?

Seb, I don’t actually know, but believe it’s probably party due to the reduction in size of the Marella fleet.

When COVID struck, Marella quickly scrapped some of their older , and probably more expensive to maintain ships. This has left them with just a few ships with which to ply their trade. It appears from recently produced itineraries, that Marella are playing it ultra cautiously at the minute, choosing destinations that will probably sell easily and ones they believe are less likely to fall foul of COVID cancellation.
The downside to this, if true, is that the itineraries are now a little “old”, and in my opinion uninspired, meaning less people may be likely to book.
