Ok this is our 15th cruise in 17 years—5th on Celebrity. 
Middle of May we decided it was TIME & we jumped. Edge looks AMAZING, but truthfully any cruise looked good!

We have friends & their YA kids joining us (btw after their experience don’t use Expedia; several issues & long hours in hold to get somewhat rectified)

 

Then the end of June I got a bug in my head to cruise the 31st as well, having my mother join me. I’ll get more into that as the thread co ti yes!

 

We changed our outbound flight several times, finally settling with a 640AM SWA OMA-ATL-FLL. Early mornings usually least problematic.

Great plan…but we know about the best laid plans…🙄

 

Headed up to Council Bluffs night b4, a couple hours at Horseshoe—didnt loose much, each got a few drinks, not all bad.

 

SWA bag drop/check in was disorganized (not typical), but managed to get there b4 a big mess. Standing in line to get my overpriced coffee…and NO idea why, but I suddenly realize I FORGOT MY VACCINE CARD!! NOOOOOO!

 

Frantically seeing if a photo is enough (appears not), then texting Mom to overnight it to the hotel—but what if it doesn’t make it??!!

I’m I’ll—my well-oiled packing machine did not double check her wallet when switching things over…..

 

NOOOOO-I DONT WANT TO WEAR A MASK ALL WEEK!!😢

 

Super husband steps up to the plate. He will drive 1.25 hrs home & retrieve it & get a later flight. GRACE, SWA agent did not even charge us more seeing my distraught nature.

 

I HAVE THE BEST HUSBAND IN THE UNIVERSE!

We had that same crappy parking lot view at Hilton Marina too. And we were going to be there for 5 days! So I complained and was upgraded to a room on a high floor in the tower with a gorgeous view. It was September so not a busy time of year.

Never hurts to ask.

Thanks for doing the LIVE report.Sorry you forgot your vaccine card.

Next time use VaxYes from GoGetVax to store your card in your Apple Wallet so you wont need to worry about the card.

Are we assured that the Cruise Line(s) will accept even that form of a Vaccine Card?

I have the same question.  I didn't want to risk it, so I brought my vaccine card with me.  But, I do have the GoGetVax on my phone with the QR bar code linking to my verified fully vaccinated status.

What a stressful way to begin a cruise.   I'm also curious if other forms of vaccination confirmation are  accepted.   I have my card (starting to look a little shabby so no longer keeping in my wallet).

 

I have a digital verification issued The State of California on my phone just in case I were to loose it.

I put my CDC card with my passport. Hope your cruise goes great now! And your husband is a jewel, and he was right to go back to get it….never sure if copies will suffice. 

 

Quick story: Wife and I are 2hrs into our 9hr drive to FLL with my mother. Daughter who will join us calls and we remind her to bring her passport. My mother in the backseat pipes up, ‘Why does she need a passport?” We had all my mother’s stuff out including the passport and for some reason, she put it away. Thought about lots of options, but turned around and drove back…..on the way, she said, ‘You can drop me off at a bus stop and I’ll not go.”…..You Know how close I came to doing That!!

 

So yup, we’ve all get ourselves into stress over this type of thing by forgetting something……well, everybody but me! 

 

KKB, aren’t you glad you flew in the day prior, and had options!

After your previous post about forgetting your vaccine card, I immediately went to Amazon and ordered that vaccine card holder that another poster mentioned.  It should arrive tomorrow.......my next cruise is not until January.  I keep a "packing list" for trips on my desktop and print it out before each vacation.  I'm adding to it all the time......vaccine card was just added......Yes, I'm a BIG planner.....😚

I ordered the combo vaccine card/passport holder as well (thanks to the member who first posted that idea!)  The pile of “stuff” to pack for my cruise is getting higher and higher (not including clothes!). Good thing I’m driving, not flying, to FLL from RDU.

We got our combo holder today from Amazon per the same recommendation and it looks nice and works perfect.

(we did stop at Magic Carpet but it was raining pretty hard; also Eden, both Al Bacios for a peek)
