Parking Near Miami FL Oceania Cruise Terminal.

Driving in this time!  It looks like "Lot J" is the closest to the Oceania terminal. Has anybody parked there? Looking for proximity, security and ease of getting to the luggage drop. Open to alternative suggestions. Price matters, but in the scheme of things it's about fourth or fifth in priority, Thanks in Advance!

Garage right across the street from pier that O usually docks at.

depends on the length of your cruise

We parked at Embassy Suites for 30 days  about $10 pd

even with the cost of  a taxi/shuttle to/from the port it was a big savings

For short cruises the port is probably better

On one occasion, we came back to a different berth than we left from. Was not informed until cruise was well underway. Had to navigate a shuttle bus back to that garage that we parked at....first world problem.

BTW, IMO do NOT consider parking offsite in Miami to save $. This is not FLL where offsite is both less expensive and convenient.

Although Port of Miami parking is expensive, it's also super convenient.  Off the ship, into your car, and away you go.  If you decide to use off-site parking, check the reputation of the operator very carefully. People have come back to damaged cars in questionable locations.

You're spending all this money on a great cruise. Why take a chance on the parking?

Greetings

Parking at Port Miami is pricey but easy.  There is a small garage directly across from Terminal J and a new larger garage just to the north of the small garage.  Port Miami is located in the downtown area so parking outside the port is at downtown rates plus many downtown lots may not be as secure as one would like.  If you're looking for the cheapest option then park at one of the MIA offsite lots and Uber back and forth.

Good Sailing

Might be expensive however it's nowhere near NYC. $400 for a 10 day cruise. It is super convenient since you park literally on the pier next to the ship

Google shows parking to be $22 - $25 a day at Port of Miami ?

I guess that is OK for 7-10 day cruise but a 30 day cruise? I like the hotel stay and park. Anyone have suggestions? Embassy has been suggested.

For a longer cruise that we drive to, we have sometimes done 2 one-way car rentals - no parking charges lol! Depending on port parking fees, car rental rates, and logistics - may or may not make any sense to consider 🙂

I believe some of the airport hotels  have secure parking  for a reasonable rate

We have used Embassy a couple of times (no hotel stay)   we booked ahead for parking  they are gated

One way rentals  from Canada are not cost  effective

we  just fly  down now  as we do not want the long drive

Occasionally we have parked at the Miami long term parking lots and taken a taxi/Uber to the port. This works well when you sail from Miami  and return home via air (from Rio or Buenos Aires).

Do not park in the terminal lot if you leave via Miami and return via air, unless it is in the morning/afternoon.  The Lot is closed after hours and no way to get your car except via the phone number posted.   Then they send someone out to the lot (can take an hour or more).

Barry & I have been parking across from the cruise port when going on a Caribbean cruise.

For our September 20th cruise Amsterdam to Venice we will fly from Tampa , to NY,  then night flight to Amsterdam arriving at 7:30 am.

We were lucky last cruise.  Met a couple on our roll call.  Since we live in Naples close to I 75, they picked us up on their  way to Miami.  We parked at J and split the parking fee.  We paid for the gas fill-up on the way home.  Great couple - worked out well.  We also paired up on our own excursions.  Always good to check out your roll call.  Looks like no such luck on our upcoming cruise but we’re going to park at J anyway.  Too safe and convenient to go elsewhere.

Double check which terminal Oceania is leaving from before heading to the Port.  I have been on an Oceania cruise that left from a terminal on the North side of the Port rather than from J.  Also be aware that NCL has constructed a new very modern terminal on the North side of the port that Oceania may now occasionally use.
