Barcelona hotel -convenient for cruising

Hello! First European cruise and thinking of spending an extra day in Barcelona. Can anyone suggest a nice hotel that would be easy and convenient for newbies? Thanks.

We stayed at the JAZZ HOTEL.  Really liked it. Small. We walked to Placa Catalunya which is lovely.  That's where the HOHO busses are. Also near a bunch of restaurants and subway

We loved Hotel 1898.  It is right on La Rambla so it couldn't be any more convenient!

We can also say that Hotel Jazz was a positive experience.  That said, stay where you want and take a taxi to the port (you will need to anyway).

I would chose Hotel Barcelona Catedral, perfect for a 1st time visitor

We (hopefully) will be in Barcelona in October. After doing some research we realized 1 or 2 days ahead of our cruise wasn't going to be enough so we're booked for 5 nights. Can't wait!

Highly recommend Barcelo Sants Hotel at the Sants Train station.    Easy for transportation, good value, good restaurants in the area.  Personally, I would not stay on La Rambla, have been warned not to eat anywhere on La Rambla, and did not find the area around La Rambla very charming.

We are looking to spend 2 extra nights in Barcelona as well post-cruise in April.  Do any of the hotels mentioned above provide easy transportation to the airport?

 Most hotels can arrange for a taxi or car and driver for a fee.  Free airport transportation from/to hotels is not common in Spain

Highly recommend El Avenida Palace.   Nice historic hotel, just steps from Place Catalunya and the Passeig de Gracia (Casa Battlo etc.).   Doorman can arrange taxi, etc.

 

If you are OK with a little walk, it's about 5 minutes from Hotel to Placa Catalunya where you can catch the Aerobus (5,90 Euros per person) to the airport.  https://aerobusbarcelona.es/?lang=en

Just get in a regular taxi. No need to pre- book anything.

Unfortunately, Hotel Jazz is requiring that you book min. 2 nights. But it looks great otherwise.

If you would like to be closer to the airport, a new Hampton inn is open. Check Hilton website

Our TA booked us for this hotel for our June 2022 Oceania cruise.  It looks amazing!

We stayed at the A. Palace and had a good experience.  Nicely located near the Placa Catalunya and the Guadi houses. Metro stop right outside the door.

If staying  at hotel Jazz, ask for a handicap room.  The shower/tub doesn't have a grab bar and was quite difficult  to get out of with new knee. At reception  they said just ask for a handicap room. It's a great place. Very helpful staff
