My Cruise has just been revised!

I just checked on my Sept. 25th Dream Cruise and I saw that Key West is now gone from the itinerary.  I didn't receive anything by email and would have not know if I didn't go and look.  We had a small excursion booked on Key West and now all the excursions are pulled.  Interestingly, the cruise after us is still showing that it is going to Key West.  We are also going to three ports in the Bahamas and so far they are there.

If no other ship is going to be docked there on the day you were going to Key West, it'll probably be changed to Bimini.  It's the new Bahamian port that Carnival has started stopping at because of Covid.  On another note, thank goodness you're stopping at HMC because Freeport and Nassau are always widely panned as two of the worst port stops around. But HMC has been called a slice of heaven.  I would just stay on the ship and enjoy the amenities when you stop at the other two ports.

A LOT of itinerary's getting changed right now, being posted all over the boards for sure!  Found out about changes to ours on another post yesterday too.  STILL no email to say it changed.

Would suggest everyone go check theirs!

Key West had banned large ships in November, No ships are being allowed into KW if they have more than something like 1,500 passengers . This ban has been overturned so not sure why. I read September the first ships will arrive.

On the same cruise, didn't receive the email either. Looks like it will just be another sea day.

For us IF our itinerary changes to the one it just changed to for sailings before us everyday will be "a stay aboard day".   Waste of my cruising dollars.  Probably heading back to Royal.

Where are you seeing that information?

Maybe an old headline they are reading... I did a quick search on line and found this, but it is months all and as we know 1st hand from passengers sailing now, that is not the case:

May 05, 2021 · CDC Will Eliminate Cruise Ship Buffet, Require Organized Shore Excursions. For cruise lines wanting to operate from a U.S. port, they will need to adhere to a number of new regulations released on Wednesday by the U.S. Centers for Disease

I was thinking that it must have been off old information. We were on the LAST cruise on the Valor out of New Orleans before the shutdown and the buffet had been modified to crew placing what you wanted on your plate which wasn't a big deal and wouldn't be surprised if those practices returned if the CDC makes recommendations to the industry.

I personally don't understand why (other than labor issue with having more servers) they would go back to allowing people to serve themselves.  Many hands makes more chance for contamination.

I would be much more comfortable if they did it cafeteria style where you point to what you want and they put it on your plate.

And I will say, I believe this Covid or not!  I have seen some pretty gross things standing in the buffet line.  I have (on more than one occasion), pointed out that they needed to get rid of a pan of food and put a new one out before I kept on moving because someone in front of me did something gross.

Mostly with unruly, unsupervised children - but I have seen adults do gross things too!

Well, I sure hope you are right that this is old news.  I just saw it online but didn’t look for the date of the article. I just want to cruise, mask free! We’ve been waiting so long! I do realize that some adults do not have manners and are unsanitary but whatever they need to do to ensure the ships sail again but without an onboard mask mandate! I’m not happy with the itinerary changes but it’s better than a total cancellation!

It's not Carnivals fault that the ports do not have the vaccine yet.  It's the call of the port to not allow any ship to stop.  Grand Cayman is banning ships through the end of January.   Grand Turk, Ocho Rios and other ports are in the same situation.  If you think by going back to Royal, all of a sudden things will change, you're mistaken.

We purchased a "Caribbean Cruise" IF all of our ports of call get changed to the ones similar cruises are being changed to none of them are in the Caribbean. We realized weeks ago GC would be a no go but every port changed and changed to nothing actually in the Caribbean.   Really folks did the entire Caribbean and all its ports shut down to Cruise ships.  I don't think so. We don't think that Royal can stop some ports from being closed.  Do think they might handle it better. IF ports are being changed tell us now not a week before we sail.

I get that you don't agree but we still get to have our opinions on how we see things.

Good night.

Just checked our September Sunrise cruise and all changed from KW and Cozumel to HMC and Nassau. Not happy with the change but at least we’ll be on board a ship again👣

Same with us!  We are going to roll with the change.  Any suggestions for Nassau?

Stay on the ship and drink lol!

Could take taxi over to Atlantis if you haven't been there.

We have been to Nassau a LOT so that is a stay on the ship and sleep port.  MAYBE get off and walk around a little bit at the shops but not much else.

been to Nassau on previous cruise-

as said above-Atlantis-and they also have an aquarium in addition to the casino/water park

if I'm on a cruise that stops there again, I will only go to the other casino Baja Mar to see it and to get a chip for my collections, then back on board

You are extremely naive if you think there wasn't a possibility of port stops changing post Covid.  It doesn't matter if you were on Carnival or Royal, the cruise lines can't control if certain ports are temporarily not allowing ships to visit.  It would have been nice if you mentioned which ports you were going to originally and which ports that Carnival switched your sailing to.  I will infer that since you mentioned that none are in the Caribbean now, it could be Nassau, Freeport and Bimini, all Bahamian ports.  If you provided that information, then maybe your rant would be heard by a more sympathetic ear.

Sorry did I miss where I asked you for sympathy?  As my DH would say, "IF you were someone whose opinion I valued I might be offened" good news is I'm not.  I simply stated my opinion about my experience.  Last I heard I am still in America.  To each his own.
