Stern verandah cabin

Booked on a late season Celebrity Alaska cruise. What are the pros and cons of a stern verandah cabin?  Deck 7 on Millennium if that makes a difference.

I'm thinking it will be more sheltered from the ship generated wind but not sure if the views will be as good?

BTW, I don't mind the extra steps from the elevators.

Thanks!

That's good.  You will get your exercise!

My experience was in a stern Neptune Suite on the Westerdam.  Very good location for scenery, I thought.  At times, an odd "screwing" type of motion was felt that was due to a combination of wind, direction of waves hitting the ship's aft area.  Not bothersome, but was noticeable in comparison to other stateroom locations that I have had.  I had soot issues on my partially covered veranda.  Others, however, have not reported such.  My cabin steward daily wiped down the veranda's furniture and railing, but, in a few hours, the soot was back.  I learned to use only a couple of the chairs and took the cushions into the stateroom when I was done with them in order to keep them clean.  No unusual noise or vibrations being over the azipods.

But, I would not choose this location again.

Some things I had not thought of. Thanks.

I suggest that you post your question on the Celebrity Board seeking information from those who have sailed on your Celebrity ship in an aft veranda stateroom and learn from their experiences.
