strawberrybisque Posted May 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Do you mean a room with two uppers? If so, my family of 4 (at the time) stayed in one on the Fantasy and it was fine. BUT each of us had our own bed rather than my husband and I sharing one. It worked out fine and we had no problems at all. Our boys at the time were...I wanna say were 5 and 8. strawberrybisque Posted May 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 5, 2004 That's probably what she meant. As I'm thinking about it now - our 5 year old got scared being on the upper so he took the lower and my husband took the upper on the 2nd or 3rd night. If you are having three in your cabin it might be a room with one upper but if you have 4 ppl in the cabin it's probably a room with 2 uppers. I guess it also depends on the ship. You could have a uessn with a convertible sofa and one upper too. jdfloyd Posted May 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 5, 2004 You will have one bed on the floor and one that is above it fastened lengthwise to the wall. Some of them, during the day, can be folded up against the wall. My DH and I were going to do this to save money too. Except for the obvious reasons for wanting a larger bed, it is acceptable..and if you can accomplish about anything you want on the lower bed. It's the size of a twin bed. Our TA was able to book us into a 4A gty, it's inside, no window but has two lower twin beds that can be pushed together. jdfloyd Posted May 5, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 5, 2004 I would check to see if an inside gty. (IS) is available for the same price as the inside upper/lower. If it is, I would book this. You may STILL get the upper/lower but then again you may get a 4A or better. It would still be inside with no windows or portholes. We personally like the inside cabins, but never had a window, porthole or balcony. Just can't swing the extra bucks. Sea Turtle Posted May 5, 2004 #12 Share Posted May 5, 2004
quote:
A twin bed is big enough. I was woried about them being singles

jillian-- Just curious as to what you consider a 'single' since to me a twin and a single bed (even though different wording) is one and the same. I've had a 1a cabin on Sensation which was a twin/single bed on the floor along with a twin/single that folds down from the wall. It's a great cabin for one or two girls traveling together but can't imagine it being comfortable for a couple. Especially a couple on a 'late honeymoon'. Enjoy your planning!
jillian_lpn Posted May 5, 2004 Author #13 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Well my definition of a single bed is that it will barely fit one person where a twin you can defiently fit two people fine. Actually I called my travel agent and shes going to try to change rooms for us. YIPPEEEE Inspiration
