Rare pierces Posted August 9, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2021 Pictures taken between Monday, August 9 and Sunday, August 15. Halfway through summer! Use the light! Rules: See above That's it. This isn't a contest. All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others! Docker123 Posted August 12, 2021 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) Even in the middle of winter, I sometimes like a nice salad. But I always check the leaves as I don't need extra protein in my diet. (Nikon 105mm micro lens.) Edited August 12, 2021 by Docker123 4

Rare pierces Posted August 16, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted August 16, 2021 Recently, little Lila passed into puppy puberty and it was time to get fixed. Our great-granddog is a textbook example of hyperactivity and her family was concerned that her recovery would be complicated by her tendency to sprint rather than walk and leap onto furniture and laps like a gazelle. Needless worry. Her first day home was the only day she showed signs of pain and by the third day when she visited us, the only evidence of her recent surgery was the neck pillow that replaced the clinic-provided cone of shame. After so many years with dogs enriching our lives, we have been without canine companionship for a little over a year and a half. Fortunately, Lila has become a frequent visitor and fills the dog-shaped gap in our lives...usually at about a hundred miles an hour. zackiedawg Posted August 18, 2021 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2021 (edited) Short Saturday jaunt through the wetlands - about 3 hours of the day, after some heavy rains in the early afternoon and leaving before the next rains came through. Temperatures were a wonderful 94 degrees, and having just rained, humidity was essentially 100% - the steam coming off the wet ground made for air the consistency and temperature of hot pea soup. Here's what I was able to find when I could wipe the sweat out of my eyes: Scarlet skimmer dragonfly: Black-bellied whistling duck: Basilisk lizard: Closeup with an anhinga: White peacock butterfly on a purple flower: Lovely prairie warbler, a migrating bird passing through early for fall migration south: Green iguana hiding, somewhat, in the tall grass: Edited August 18, 2021 by zackiedawg
