Did they have shuttles or did you have to walk a mile to get there? In the past they have always had a few shuttle busses from the pier into town. Free. And the obligatory 20% gratuity. So this is pretty correct. I just did some investigating and found it’s normally 13.7% tax for bar drinks and 20% if you buy from a liquor store in Washington State. So from the looks of it I’m guessing NCL was charging the 20% for state tax and the 20% gratuity bringing the total to a whopping $33.60 for 2 drinks at port. Heads up to everyone, when you do buy any drinks at port and there is an alcohol tax, it will be added to your bill. Speaking of which, I had better find out what NYC and Bermuda’s taxes are for booze. 🤔

It's a buck or two at most while still docked in NYC and no tax is charged when docked in Bermuda.

No. That is an NCL airport to port transfer. If you are on an NCL transfer, when you turn your bags over to the bus driver, they are delivered direct to your room. Port Valet will take your bags from your room the last night of the cruise, and check them into your airline for you. After you leave your bags outside the room, the next time you see them is at your final destination airport. The ship will give you specially printed luggage tags and your airline boarding passes. If you have to pay for checked luggage, that will be billed to your room. You never pay over weight charges, so fill up those bags. We had been planning to walk as it is not very far. Why is it not a "nice walk"? Busy traffic, or no sidewalks? I've tried looking at some maps but could not find out anything other than the distance... Thanks if you can provide more details Bird!

I've taken the shuttle from the ship to the Tram stop and then walked back to the ship after doing the Tram. Sidewalks the whole way, though the last part of the walk is through the port area so nothing much to see there. Easy to walk, though.
Rare scooter6139 Posted August 20, 2021 #40 Share Posted August 20, 2021 The change in testing venue looks like a good idea. That 1.5 hour or so wait crammed into the Marriot waiting for your number was just a terrible idea.

We walked in the last time we were in Juneau and saw a mother bear and her 3 cubs just across the road. Quite a few people were walking it. Not a bad walk at all and actually quite nice to get away from the hordes of people.

I wasn't on that sailing. Another poster reported that it had moved. This week it was being done in a few different places. That should help with lines, I think.
ilovetotravel1977 Posted August 22, 2021 #46 Share Posted August 22, 2021 OP...Not a particularly interesting question, but could you ask if NCL is still offering PCR tests for guests that require one for flights home? Website says yes, but rep says no (says only antigen). Thank you.
