Dining on the American Melody

Not American Melody, but on American Spirit in June all the tables were for six. Melody's deck plans show all tables for eight. Someone on our cruise initially expressed concern about sharing tables in light of Covid, but went with the shared tables.

On all our ACL cruises, don't remember any tables for two.  A very few for 4, a few for 8, but most for 6.

Haven't been on the Melody -- in fact nobody has -- its very first cruise just started a couple of days ago from New Orleans.  The ship is currently racing to Vicksburg, ahead of schedule, trying apparently to stay ahead of the worst of Hurricane Ida.

Don't know what it will do then.  It is supposed to return to New Orleans this Friday, when we are scheduled to board it for a 3-week trip to Minneapolis.  We're fearing greatly that New Orleans will be a mess and we will not be able to start then.  Most cruises are only a week, and normally when this happens ACL simply cancels the trip.  But no idea how they will handle an impacted 3-week trip...

With so many ACL (and AQSC) cruises based in New Orleans, I'm surprised there has been no activity on the boards re Ida.  I think many cruises are about to be ruined.
