I know the Salsa cruise was shifted.  My reference was to those of us who are booked on Armonia as regular passengers.

Sorry, I misread.  I never thought about that.  So there are twice as many affected now on both ships. What a mess.

Well, the Armonia returned to Italy a month or so ago after loitering around Florida/Bahamas for a year and a half. It’s not even listed on the CDC page of ships that have or are working on getting CDC approval. From reading the guidelines, it seems that that process would take at least a month and a half. So, draw your conclusions from that. I canceled my 12/3 Armonia sailing a couple days before final payment was due. The rep on the phone gave me a hard time about it and flatly denied that there was any chance that the ship wasn’t going to sail. I canceled anyway.

My cruise leaves in less than a month and a half and I have been fully paid for over 3 weeks now since final payment has passed.

It appears its not going to happen for us non group people.

The ship is the replacement for the Salsa dance group cruise on the Armonia that is not coming over now from Europe. They have a full ship charter with all their own big time entertainers.

I keep checking "my cruises" list and its still showing so we have not been cancelled yet.....

Per the passenger contract, if they cancel on us for something like this, they need to refund, allow you to book on any available similar cruise in the future exactly what you have now price and amenity wise with no additional cost, or down grade to another cruise with a partial refund.

So if you got a good deal, choose middle option.

Steve

So,  I got an Aurea balcony for around $1400.   Looking at the website, there isn't another 7 day Aurea under 2k.  I know that when they canceled all the Covid cruises, the best they offered was 125% on future cruise.

As per T and C, MSC should give you comparable cruise for fare you had for cancelled cruise.  7 day Aurea  Balcony  Caribbean.

See Steve’s Post with MSC policy listed.

This is the list of ships that are operating or planning to operate in US waters. The Armonia isn’t on there. 😞

https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/cruise-ship-color-status.html Could they hustle the approval process and hurry the ship back here? Probably. But it doesn’t seem like MSC does anything with alacrity so I’m not holding my breath. If it shows up as starting the process and heads back this way I might rebook, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

They are not canceling the cruise!

The cruise is still going, we are just not going to be on it.

They are going to bump us technically.

They will use their right to cancel us for any reason, but in using that right, we get to choose another similar cruise at the same accommodations or better for no additional cost .

I think we are just hosed on this one.  When we talk about a similar cruise, do you think that means another 3 or 4 day that some of us booked or the 7 day that we were last seen holding a reservation for?

At this point I just assume get my full refund and go elsewhere.  This was my "Try MSC" cruise,  but not enjoying my experience

I see your point.

I was lucky I booked a 7 night from the start a week ago.

I guess from your standpoint, do you have confirmation that you now have a 7 night?

If so, hold your position.

It no longer shows as a 7 day in my online account, but I took screenshots when it did...holding my position for now.

My TA said MSC is currently working on the options. My first inclination is to take the $$$s.   But, if they will match the price on the Meraviglia for a YC suite we may consider but that is highly unlikely because of the price difference.

What do you mean match the price?

If they cancel you, you get to choose another similar cruise at same or better category for free.

I'm ok if they change (have one booked the week before anyway). Like you Steve I booked a week ago for a 7 day Deluxe Grand, and if "booted" nothing less will satisfy me.  But give me another deluxe Grand for the same price and I'll take it.

For Armonia, I am not sure if the 90 day requirement still exists, but they do have to provide 14 days covid monitoring for all the crew and I think a test cruise before they can accept paying pax again, so need around 3 weeks before the first cruise on November 1st. They may be gambling on the fact that the CSO expires on .....1st November.

I just got off the phone and they cannot do anything without the official email, but they did acknowledge it.  I personally will not take anything less than a Yacht club Grand suite per the passenger contract. I am glad I only live an hour and a half down the road in case I need an independent party to deal with it.😉

The Divina leaves in Nov and the Meraviglia does not have my Deluxe Grand Suite equivalent so unless I wait until April 2022 there will be no equal match.  I paid $2200 for the 3 night 10/28 cruise a while ago.  I am not the mood to be litigious for $2200.  I ll probably take my money and end it.  Stress is not my thing.

If they don't have a GS then they must give you the next category.

I am waiting for them to try and send me to Miami. That's ok, but pay my gas, tolls, parking as I am a local to Port Canaveral and have family to drop me off as they work in the port.

I also have 2 cruises with MSC in December and 2 with MSC first week of March and then I am traveling from mid April thru February of 2023

We have 8 cruises booked from PC thru May.   PC is very convenient versus FLL or MIA. GREAT safe parking for $17 a day even though they add on an addl day.

At least our 10/31 cruise is still a go and we will be looking forward to it.  Our next cruise is on the Meraviglia in Dec in a Deluxe YC cabin.  Once things settle down with this COVID mess and the economy normalizes somewhat, things will be fine again.

Talking to MSC US Reps on the phone is like hitting your head against a brickwall.  They are not plugged into anything more than we are on the MSC Website.  Fighting a company based in Italy will be a super challenge.  Looking forward to my 10/31 cruise.

Out of curiosity, what GS did you have? They sold me 16035. Might have better bargaining is they sold us the same GS.

And the fun continues.   Just spoke with a phone msc rep, who politely informed me that the cruise is going to happen with the listed itinerary.    And the reason it wasn't showing up was it was at capacity.   Just would like to know what is going on, so I can plan for it.    Such a mess.

16034 by the back door so we could come and out stealthy without being escorted.  Great location.

That will/would have been a problem since we too booked that room for the same reason. And that we would have the same room for our B2B.

Rep is not wrong. The cruise is going to happen with that itinerary. Just not with us non Salsa group people.  The whole ship is a private charter so MSC has no capacity to sell.
