On the Vista, mid Oct, does Carnival or will Carnival offer international travelers heading to airport Rapid PCR testing on board?

Or where to get one after disembarkation asap and then head to Bush Airport in Houston???

Carnival is not providing testing. I would ask on the Gulf Coast Departures board where you might get a test. Its possible that you can get it done at the airport.

Thankyou...

I'd think you could report to medical on ship claiming you have symptoms, and they'd test you....  there might be a cost.

If you did this, I suspect the test would be antigen, not the PCP required by Canada.  EM

As Carnival has to report any suspected cases to the CDC, I'd say please don't do this...  😉

There are several locations in the Houston area where you can get the RT-PCR (accepted by Canada).

You can also schedule an appointment for Rapid PCR / NAAT testing (both also accepted by Canada) at Bush, with results in 30-60 minutes.

Good luck!

I think Carnival is providing post cruise testing for those that need it prior to disembarkation.

Actually - I have to retract that - That was for Holland America.

I just read through the Carnival COVID Guest Protocol and it does not mention testing availability for post cruise travel needs.

It only addresses that Unvaccinated require pre-disembarkation cruise test requirement (with $150 Fee) - but no mention of post cruise test for foreign travelers needing testing.

I suspect it is available for $150 per person...

Thanks for all the info, I also found Haztech, 8 min from Bush IAH , Rapid PCR testing 30 min.

But I will investigate the Airport site too.

Would make sense if all Cruise lines, just set up a testing area 2 days before disembarkation, for int'l travelers if needed quickly....I'd pay the $150 if it was Rapid PCR.

We went to vegas a month ago, and to fly back to Canada, we arranged where they came right to our room, 20 min tops it took. paid for it as it wasnt done by the MGM Casino Hotel,

as I have shared before, they 9whom ever they is we need to find out) have created a whole new industry!

  • 4 weeks later...

There is a testing site in Terminal E at Bush Airport near the food court.

Don’t know what type of tests (probably 15 min antigen) or the costs or hours of operation.

Go to the web site IFly.com for details.
