UCFKnight85 Posted February 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Guess this might be an interesting thread. I don't know what kind of "special" drinks NCL has, so I was hoping some of you could fill me in!! Me personall- I like a strong whiskey and coke or a vodka tonic. But I'll try anything really ;)
WaldosPepper Posted February 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Oh, now THIS is a fun topic! :D My favorite "afternoon" libation is a Banana Margarita My favorite "after dinner" libation is a nice Grand Marnier - UP My favorite "after/during coffee" libation is a nice Sambuca - again, UP My favorite "evening" cocktail would have to be a Manhattan. That said, I'm certainly not against a nice glass of wine before or during dinner. For that matter, a little wine on the balcony in the afternoon with a good book is not a bad idea either! I could go on ... ;)
Ralphinsc Posted February 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2006 I know one thing. When I get on board in three weeks, I'm not going to care as long as that first one is tall, frozen, and has a little umbrella sticking out of it for the sailaway.:p That'll be more for the mood than for anything else. Looking at the prices, I hope I just get out of there without having to remortgage the house. LOL! :D

tinkerbelldee Posted February 18, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2006 There are so many I am a champagne girl at heart and can drink it at any time if the day or night. Martinis, any kind except dirty, though DH loves all the olive juice Grand Marnier or Port after dinner Bushwakers or just a plain old Vodka (or Gin) and tonic by the pool Good red wine with dinner and even a cold beer in the afternoon. Wow, it looks like I am a bit of a lush:D

Nectarologist Posted February 18, 2006 #12 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Frozen Rum Runners are delicious (but I don't how they make them; forgot to look:mad: I would appreciate any help on this one)Miami Vice is a fun one too! Bloody Marys rock when you're still a bit woozy from the day before Martinis when you're looking to do some damage:D Gin & Tonic Beer to kill time in between the above:)
Catbiri2 Posted February 18, 2006 #13 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Bloody Marys in the morning... Then, throughout the day Rum Punches, or, this nifty frozen coffee drink I found at the Java bar, but can't remmeber what it was called now. I know it had kaluha in it though, and it was frozen, and it was great when it was hot out. Found out though that only the Java bar could make it good. Tried having the bartender in Spinnakers make it, but it tasted funky. Found out from Java cafe bar that the wrong kind of mix was probably used. Oh well. (this was on Dawn). Beers late night when I am finally ready to start settleing down.

Dorothy Posted February 18, 2006 #15 Share Posted February 18, 2006 I have been on other cruise lines where the bartenders were terrible. Are the bartenders generally pretty good on NCL? I like blended drinks like colada's, margarita's and in the evening Martini's. Good red wine for dinner.
judyf Posted February 18, 2006 #16 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Kiss on the lips and Miami Vice are two that are pretty good for a frozen drink.
SMILING IRISH EYES Posted February 18, 2006 #17 Share Posted February 18, 2006 What is in a Miami Vice? Champagne and Beer are my favorites --go figure. Also love a good frozen drink. Well I am Irish:D

trish1c Posted February 19, 2006 #20 Share Posted February 19, 2006 While I prefer the "classics" at home -- good wine, fine champagne & maybe a sidecar up w/ sugar as a before dinner cocktail or a Nutty Irishman if I'm craving sweet after dinner instead of dessert, on a cruise I want sweet & tropical: Mojitos (if they have fresh mint) Blue Hawaiians Bahama Mamas Sex on the Beach Slow Comfortable Screw Against a Wall -- the drink, get your minds out of the gutter ;) Franch martini Franch kiss peach bellini & a BBC for dessert. You just have to be careful. Too much alcohol in the sun is dangerous & mixing all those different kinds of mixers (espcially if the ship's moving) can be very hard on the stomach. iteachkind Posted February 19, 2006 #22 Share Posted February 19, 2006 All the special drinks sound wonderful, especially the FROZEN ones. Does anyone have a ballpark figure as to what most of them cost?---just wondering if I need to take our a loan to quench my thirst! lol---just kidding. Prices for wine and mix drinks would be appreciated. Thanks
WaldosPepper Posted February 19, 2006 #23 Share Posted February 19, 2006 I've just thought of another one! My not-yet-experienced-but-soon-to-be-favorite: Champagne at embarkation in my AB Suite! :D :D :D How in the world did I manage to get so LUCKY???! I promise to savor every second, because I may never get to experience anything like it ever again. :)
