I have always used the Speedtest app from Ookla.  Never had an issue.  Fast is supposed to be a more accurate test because from what i hear and Im not an IT professional at all, many isps give ookla packets priority to artificially increase the speed reading to make it appear like they are faster than they really are.  Fast is supposedly a more accurate.  Maybe unloaded is the artificial ping with “priorirty” whereas the loaded one is for real.  For some reason, Ookla will not measure and gives me an error even though it finds the source.

 

Just guessing here.

I boarded about the same time, we were probably very close in line. I was surprised by the line, it wasn't long and it moved along pretty fast but I wasn't expecting it. Then I remembered I had a 12:30 check in and was part of the problem lol.

I noted in your thread that there was outages with the wifi.  So far, it feels consistent.  But only time will tell.  I’ve had a cruise where the wi-fi was intermittently kicking me and sometimes not reconnecting me.  Hopefully they fixed it since last week for you 😜

I noticed there’s a headliner event tribute for Elton John on the app.  Its not on the Cruise Compass.  Interesting.  At the end of the ice show marcelo the CD said it was a welcome aboard show so i’m confused because thats not mentioned either.

 

I’m at a dinner now.  So fun fact.  I’ve never done My time dining.  I’ve always liked having the same table at the same time.  So imagine my surprise when i thought I had late

seating and my sea pass card said my time.  I go to the dining room to fix and found out that because of low capacity.  There is no late seating dining and every one in late

dining was relegated to my time with 8:00 reservations premade.  So essentially, we have my time dining.

I think your app is playing tricks on you. Mine matches last week. I see nothing about Elton John. That should be night 3 if history repeats itself.

 

The 1030 comedy show is a kind of hybrid comedy/welcome aboard show. I don't do welcome aboard shows and  almost skipped it but was glad I went. Very light on the cheesy welcome aboard stuff mostly comedy.

@jam19872016 I swear I saw it?!?!?   It was inline with the comedy show and i was like nuts, i miss something.  I actually almost reserved it but decided to skip it in favor of the comedy show.  Also, were you having issues posting?  I’m finding that sometimes, i can’t post because the site thinks I’m both logged on and not logged on at the same time.

 

Upon review of my app, I was wrong.  I only had reservations for tonight for dinner.  I have my time dining.  aaah well.

 

Here’s my dinner menu from the app.  They give you a paper menu which in my opinion is easier to read.

 

 

 

My signature escargot.  This is the main reason i cruise.  I love this.  I did a 14

night cruise on Celebrity for my honeymoon.  Multiple Escargot almost every night.  Thats

over 100 snails.  I didn’t eat at the MDR every night though.

I’m glitching bad now.  I don’t know if its cruise

critic or how it reacts to such a slow connection but I had to switch to Safari to

post.  I’m like 1/2 logged in.  But it won’t let me submit my post, but also has the option to log in.  When i open my sidebar, it shows me

logged in with my notifications.  But when i logged in with Safari just now, my notifications had changed like it updated or something.

 

So today Was a long interesting day. Ended up going to the Ice Show as well as the welcome aboard show.  The welcome aboard show had two comedians.  Alvin Williams and Don Grey.  They will be back later.

 

These are some shots from the ice show.  It was not a bad show.  I’m impressed that these skaters are also aerialists.  Plus being able to pull off a double with a moving ship can’t be easy.

Good Morning.  I think my glitch issue is Chrome.  I’m using Safari now and it seems to be working.  
 

We dock in Nassau but we don’t really have any specific plan.  I did get to

soak my legs in the hot tub last night and they feel so much better.  I think i will try to hit breakfast

I’m sitting at breakfast now.  I have to get real coffee later.  This cruise coffee isn’t cutting it.  On longer cruise, i would bring my own, but since this is a 3 night,  i decided to forgo it as there’s a starbucks in Nassau and surprisingly, there’s a starbucks on board.  I thought they were only on Oasis class.

I had issues posting constantly but not the kind you describe.

 

I think it was a combo of internet speeds and cc not being very compatible with mobile. When I use my computer I don't have most of the posting issues. The only thing going i still can't do is insert links to photos on my own host site. I might try using a different browser next time see if that helps my issues like it did for you.

The dining situation is weird. I'm glad you shed some light on it. When I look at the daily I see there is no late seating for vaccinated and I wondered what that was about.

 

Late seating is an option for the everyone dining room. I took everyone to mean if you want late dinner you have to eat on deck 4 instead of the vaccinated dining room. Now u see it is just not an option.

 

Add to that my time dining does not begin until 645 and the whole thing is just not real convenient.

 

I enjoy eating early, so guess I will try to change to early assigned dining for my next Mariner. I went to purchase the dining plan again last night because I saw there were some sales. They wanted $173.....on a three day cruise. No way.

Escape room appears to be open 11-6.  I do not see Laser tag available here.

@Adian80 Also, it seems you have to reserve

onboard.  I could not see it reservable online or in app until i boarded.

 

So we are docked next to Freedom.  I think these ships will share ports for a while:  Another funny story.  I was supposed to board Freedom today…in Bayonne.  BUT INSTEAD SHE’S HERE!!!  I had my first b2b planned.  Bermuda and Canada.  14 nights total.  But noooo, im on a 3 night instead…

 

 

It got lifted and shifted to next September

on Adventure.  If the b3b trip had happened, I was probably going to book a 9 night to the ABCs on Explorer for next sept.

I think i fixed the issue by clearing the browser cache.  I’m back on Chrome which i prefer.

Anyways, we’re about to head out into town.  They request you bring you vaccination card as well as id fyi.  We might make it to the distillery or the Pirate brewery.    We’re in the diamond lounge waiting for the rain to die down.

 

As i was writing the last paragraph, the wifi went down.  Its still raining hard with thunder and lightning.  It looks to be clearing, but i decided to get lunch onboard.  A light lunch.

 

I have a general rule in ships.  I do not do fish onboard.  I will eat finish, but i’m really finicky about it being overcooked and they usually will.  However this fried fish is perfect.  And yea, i got a chili cheese dog.  Surprisingly, Dog House didnt have chili!!  Who sells hot dogs and not chili.  Sacrilege!!!

What is wrong with the picture.  This is my bathroom door.

 

 

This door opens to the left.  The light switch…is on the left.  About 70% of the time, i open the door first to go in, look for the light and then realize its behind the door so i have to close it to reach the light switch and then open the door again.

 

At least I’m on a cruise

If you want to do the escape room, book immediately when you board.  I did it on Anthem but here, i wasn’t sure we really wanted to do it for 20 bucks a pop, but i looked at the availability and nothing is available for the remainder of the cruise.

Great to hear that escape room is running...but sorry that you missed it.  Do you know how many they allow per game?  We would love to try it on Anthem.  It's apparently not running though...fingers crossed when the ship returns to the US...so good to hear that it is running on other ships.
