For all countries? I'm struggling to work out if this is US only that's all. Especially with talk of the CDC

Any reference to the CDC means the United States only.

Whether anything will happen in other countries, "no one" knows.

This is all interesting cause they have been filling up suites with Royal-Up.

RoyalUps have been happening closer and closer to the sail dates and likely aren't being accepted yet this far out for the affected cruises in play here.

It appears that all of the affected cruises for this "social distancing" relocation email are after the November 1, 2021 CSO expiration date which is why the assumptions are being made.

I was told this new policy is from November through the end of March.

Yikes, we have a b2b in January and a b3b in March. I really want to keep the same cabins because I hate having to pack up between cruises. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Carnival didn't do test cruises and have already extended their protocols including vax requirement through Feb 2022.  They sail at 95% vax.  Kids by exemption only.

Royal did test cruises so unvax could sail.  There is no limit for kids on Royal.  Bring as many as you want even if they are under the vaccine age limit.  They only enforced vax requirement to satisfy the Bahamas through Nov. 1 when the Bahamas rule is lifted (unless Bahamas extends it).

If this were about cdc future requirements .. why book all the promenade cabins in a row? They would know by now so why not block them off?

Idk if the moving of cabins is more so on shorter cruises, maybe. Nothing reported for liberty except they are sailing at about 50% now, capacity going up. Cant space everyone.

And I'm still on the on liberty jan 30th going to grand caymans and charging for those port fees. Up until april 1st, all the others changed.

To me it often feels like rcl goes out of it's way to make extra work for itself and my TA. For no reason. Covid isnt going thru the walls.

So your working theory is that Royal really likes to upset Royal Loft Suite guests and move them to another cabin because they can and are bored with little to do.

Got it.

I do feel bad for those who really loved their specific stateroom and handpicked it, BUT I think this was a very wise precaution! Ventilation and proximity are 2 of the biggies for Covid prevention, so it only makes sense to me to go every other cabin. It’s not foolproof but adds another layer of protection, and to me, it actually enhances the cruise because everyone gets more privacy, no loud neighbors! I’m frankly surprised cruise lines are already doing this.

Got it.

For instance when they sent liberty to dry dock. It would have been so much easier to move one set of pax, not 2.

Moved independence to Galveston temporary, and then a 2nd ship moved to miami to replace independence temporarily.

I know suites lost their suite. Just move one ship to Galveston.. dont move 2 ships around for one dry dock. Just that much more can and did go wrong.

I actually do wonder about some of rcl decisions. If you think they all are great, good.

Start planning ahead and block off which cabins they want to separate in the future. Plan ahead. Planning ahead seems to be lacking. How many protocols got changed on rcl very last minute on rcl but not other lines.

Yes I do think they bring a lot of problems on themselves by poor planning. Being sarcastic and smart with your reply just now doesnt make me think different.

Is Royal identifying the spacing those cabins that have unvaxxed kids.  If no, them why are the Paxs in the Solarium one on top of each other.  Also, vaxxed in the MDR, Casino, Adult Comedy Show, Theatre. etc.  Not even social distancing.  Makes no sense.

They were doing it on Harmony in the Med in August and September;  a number of people posted about it.

Sorry I think I'm even more confused. I didn't think Harmony was doing Med in Aug and Sep 2021?

Yes, she's still here. She started back on the 15th of August doing the standard 7-night western Med itinerary from Barcelona and Rome. I was on the 26 September sailing. She is due to finish up at the end of this month and return to the States. The transatlantic crossing is due to depart from Barcelona on the 31st of October.

Can someone please post a copy of the email you have received about changing your cabin? I am stressing out because we have 4 cruises booked in that timeframe and one is a B2B.

That wouldn’t help because it’s not going to tell you if you are going to be moved.

It's not good when your are on the receiving end and there are no equivalent suites. To be booted from the RLS that was booked over 2 years ago for social distancing is wrong and they should be moving the passengers in the neighboring CLS. There are no comparable suites for Star Class.

Hoping I don’t get this letter… we booked connecting rooms to put my kids in one room and we will sleep in the other. We’re booked with one adult in each cabin, but the reservations are linked.

Because you are all from the same family, it wouldn’t make sense to do that.  I really wouldn’t worry about being moved.  Enjoy your trip.

Would still like to see what they are saying. We are traveling with friends and family on all cruises and would hate to be bumped from our cabins. Final payment due next week.

It could also be certain ships. They might not do your ship or have gotten to your ship.

If they were doing my dec jan or feb etc cruise, I'm on roll calls for those dates and someone would have posted if they got the letter. I havent seen any liberty posts .. yet.

Join your roll call. See if anyone posts they got moved.
