Would still like to see what they are saying. We are traveling with friends and family on all cruises and would hate to be bumped from our cabins. Final payment due next week.

I've seen several posts where people said they received the email, but never the actual email.

Dear Guest,

Before we set off for adventure on our Harmony of the Seas November 21, 2021 cruise, we have a quick change to share with you.

While we've been working around the clock to get our ships back to cruising, we've had to change how our guests are spaced out onboard to ensure proper social distancing. As a result, your original stateroom is no longer available. We're sorry for the last-minute change, but there's no need to worry. You'll be relocated to a like-for-like stateroom, and all your amenities will remain the same

Please know, there's no action necessary on your part. Once the changes are finalized, an updated booking invoice reflecting your new details will be sent to you and your Travel Advisor via email. If you have any questions, please contact your Travel Advisor immediately or contact us at:

  • 1 866 562 7625 in the U.S. or Canada
  • 1 800 754 500 in Australia
  • In the UK only, by using our webchat service or by calling 0344 493 4005
  • All other countries, please visit http://www.royalcaribbean.com/contactus for your local Royal Caribbean International office phone number.

Thanks for your understanding. Next up: kick back, relax, and start counting the days until you set sail! See you soon!

Sincerely,

Royal Caribbean International

I wonder if moving some rooms may be to more evenly distribute the staterooms with people in them for the stateroom attendants?  One could have all of the rooms in his area full and another may have very few.  Just a thought...

I'd thought the same, but still makes no sense for people in the Star suites.

The only one I know about in Star updated and said revenue finally got back to her and they're still researching it but they're pretty sure it was a mistake. 🙄

Also, if you have multiple reservations booked and you got that letter, how would even have a clue which reservation it was for?

Yeah, I didn't even catch that. You'd think they'd have included a reservation # in there, not just the ship name and sail date.

Told by who - your TA? Has anyone figured out exactly what this policy even is?

I called a Casino Host minutes after I got the email. She told me to wait because my cabin hasn't been changed yet.

I haven't heard anything concerning my other cruises booked for that time period. I wonder if only certain cabins will be effected. As I said earlier, I have two cabins booked on the sailing that I got the email about. Both are next to connecting cabins. I wonder if they are freeing up that area for family and friends that are sailing together, but that's a guess.

We received one for our January Allure cruise. Really not happy about it since I booked well in advance and specifically chose a hump balcony.  Going to wait and see new cabin assignment, then go from there.

We also got the email for Harmony 11/21/21. Has anyone actually been moved yet? They won't tell me anything except that they now have to space passengers out so that they have an empty cabin between them. I asked what that meant for sailings that were already booked past 50% capacity, but he had no idea...

I'm on that same sailing. Got the email on Weds, called the TA to check into it. She talked to Royal and said we probably wouldn't see a cabin reassignment until Friday. Sure enough Friday morning we were moved from our hump JS on Deck 8 about 7 doors down to another non-hump JS that can hold 5 (we are a party of 3), same muster station still. Our TA called and got us reassigned to a hump JS on Deck 6 on Friday afternoon.

I posted the same thing, if this is going forward why doesnt rcl plan ahead and block off cabins. This way of doing it makes no sense to me.

I am not sure if this may be a result of the emails and cabin shifts, but for those who have received emails; have you received a Royal Up email? Or if you have already, what is the status of your Royal Up bid?

We still have RoyalUp bids pending. The email would affect any of that since it's supposed to be a like for like cabin switch.

Does anyone know how the ventilation systems in the ship are designed?  Do some share a common circulation path?

Only thing I could logically think of..maybe rearranging folks within zones? But then we got a cabin reassignment only 7 doors down..who knows. We also know that a cabin 2 doors from our original cabin also got a we are moving you email. I don't believe they've been reassigned yet.

This may vary by ship but @chengkp75can provide details. It is very unlikely the ventilation system design has anything to do with the issue in this thread.

The ones on each side of us are for sale, same HOTS 11/21 sailing as Itchy&Scratchy. But we didn't get the letter. It makes zero sense.

Just a thought, could they be trying to group the unvaxed away from the vaxed?  Granted they can't know the adults' status, but if they see under 12 they know.  Something like move the vaxed aft and the unvaxed forward?

It sounds incredibly dumb, but so does their logic in the email they sent out and what cabins they are selling. 🤷‍♀️

Royal should have released an official statement or at least provided a better explanation. Leaving passengers to speculate is never a good PR strategy.

I think that no one in Royal Caribbean's IT department knows about a thing called "social media" and has no idea that people talk to each other about cruising.

Sounds like a guarantee to me. Those like me who pay extra to pick a certain cabin and pay more. Moving you to another random cabin after paying  a premium for a specific cabin and location seems not so good.
