itskristene Posted October 21, 2021 Author #26 Share Posted October 21, 2021 Once on board, I saw the atrium was crazy busy with people at guest services and the atrium bar was full so I got settled in at the casino bar. There was only one person working and she was busy, but she called for backup and I had a drink in no time.
itskristene Posted October 21, 2021 Author #27 Share Posted October 21, 2021 After that I headed to my muster station (at Serenity! How pleasant!) and that was over in a flash. Currently sitting in the Tiffany’s bar with another drink. And we are caught up! New alchemy bar is gorgeous 😍

Is "Artemis" a prequel or a sequel? Having fun reading your review!

itskristene Posted October 21, 2021 Author #31 Share Posted October 21, 2021 Small hiccup - my suitcase was found 3 doors down from my actually room. Dragged it to my room and then was accosted by my next door neighbors for a while.

Shaded Lady Posted October 22, 2021 #33 Share Posted October 22, 2021 @itskristene do you mind expanding just a bit on how the new muster process works? If anyone who has actually experienced it on Carnival has posted details, I've missed it.... thanks in advance!
Orlando_97 Posted October 22, 2021 #34 Share Posted October 22, 2021 We’ll be on the Elation in two weeks. Thanks for posting. Looking forward to the rest of them. Very helpful.
Bostwick girl Posted October 22, 2021 #35 Share Posted October 22, 2021 The new muster is extremely easy. When on board, go to your muster station, someone will be there to check you off the list. You’ll have a brief demo on how to use the life jacket. You’re then free to go! Remember tho, the ship doesn’t sail until everyone has done the muster.

If anyone who has actually experienced it on Carnival has posted details, I've missed it.... thanks in advance! It is so easy and simple. You have a muster station listed on your Sign and Sail card. Perhaps Muster Station J. You follow the signs to Muster Station J and usually it is a lounge or theater. There are crew there who will check your names off of a list. Either immediately or when 4 or 5 people are there, a crew member will show you how to put on a life jacket (not on you, just the crew member putting a life jacket on himself or herself). Then you are done but asked to watch a safety video that plays on your cabin TV in a loop on one of the channels. You can go to the Muster Station any time on the day of embarking so it is no set time or rush but easiest to do as soon as convenient. No standing on deck, waiting on others, hearing loud sirens and being miserable in the heat! Depending on your mood and desire to be a jerk, you can ask your fellow passengers at the life jacket demonstration things like "how tight do I wrap the cord around my neck?" or wonder at the level of intelligence needed to put on a life jacket (kind of like the "how to buckle your seatbelt" lecture on airplanes). But the crew are very nice and it is a great process.

I haven't cruised in a few years and heard about the new process, but no one ever gave the details. This sounds like a vast improvement over the old way, and it's one of those COVID changes that I hope sticks around!
boomhower Posted October 22, 2021 #38 Share Posted October 22, 2021 Interested to see how the flow is once it's back to full capacity with the added rooms. Still can't believe they did away with the comedy club area to add rooms. Plus the rooms they added a few years ago with deck 14, that's a lot more people than the ship was designed for. We used our boarding pass's to check in for the safety drill as we had not yet got our Sail & Sign cards. It has your muster station printed on it and a bar code they scan to log you in. Quick and simple
itskristene Posted October 25, 2021 Author #40 Share Posted October 25, 2021 Man guys I tried but the wifi/cruise critic login issue was giving me trouble for so long I just gave up. I am back and home, and will do more pictures/review-ish type posts later. I will say straight out that the Elation is in fantastic shape, and I had a wonderful time.

tinkerbell1984 Posted October 26, 2021 #43 Share Posted October 26, 2021 Did you happen to photo the menus? Taking this cruise in Dec and curious which of Carnivals menus made it to the 4 day.
