Casino offer NCL & booking another cabin for friends

Hi our friends have a voucher for a free 7 day cruise! They are picking it up at the Casino it is from In Vegas next month.

My question is we want to travel with them. Do I just get their cabin number and try and find something close by since I don't have the casino offer.

I am guessing this number is just for casino offers.

But they have never been on NCL offer is from hotel.

Any other suggestions?

Glad I asked!! Thanks again!

I have never done it but I am sure they wouldn't refuse a booking.  I have a full price cruise booked through CAS for 2023 that I booked at the same time as my "free" land based casino certificate for 2021 that they extended until 2022.  I did not qualify for the 2023 cruise through my local casino because I stayed away due to Covid. I have immune compromised family members.  They told me to call back after my 2022 cruise and they will see what they can offer for 2023.

I believe they can book a room for you through CAS when they use their certificate.  You will pay full price but at least you can coordinate the room location.

CAS has in the past offered 10% off rooms booked for friends or family under a certificate or directly through them. I received this for my son and DIL for last October, but cruise of course was cancelled. Doesn't hurt to ask!

I've booked friends through CAS.  A CAS guest is permitted to book two additional cabins.  Those won't be free but, unless it's changed recently, you WILL get a 10% discount so not bad.  Also, casino guests are not segregated from the rest of passengers so, even if you booked on your own, if you have your friend's cabin number you'll likely find something nearby.

which land-based casino brand is the certificate from? most casinos offer their players discounts on purchased cruises. for caesars entertainment, for instance, the discount runs from 5% to 30% depending on the cabin class booked and the player's tier level. and that is generally on top of whatever discounts or "free at sea" offers are in place.

I believe it is from the Cosmopolitan but they are also Ceasers too

we've done it a number  of times, my wife gets the certificate, an also books a cabin for her sister andher husband. also in the past she got 10% off onthe 2nd cabin

Sounds like what we want to do. Thinking our friends will use the 10% off on us and hopefully they can put it in our name.

Yes, the room is absolutely in your names (and can be on your credit card as well.)   If you have any CruiseNext certs etc. those may also be used.

for what it's worth, (and for purposes of your question) the cosmopolitan is not part of cesaers entertainment holdings. i believe they were just bought by mgm

by the way, one of these free cruise offers is next week. we're flying into vegas from l.a. and picking up the certificate on monday.  staying at paris las vegas.  ask your friends if they have a casino host. he or she can do wonders.

usually, you go to the promotions desk at the front of the casino, and you get the certificate. there is also an ncl rep there to assist and/or answer any questions.  note however, the free cruise is usually an inside cabin unless your friends have a high rate of play. we have always paid a little more to upgrade.

finally, since we have had 6 cruises cancelled because of covid, i contacted casinos at sea, and was advised that due to my wife's play on board the ship, we got a free club suite, so if you go along, get a players  card, play onthe slots, blackjack tables, or whatever you like, and youmay be building up travel credit on your own.

I got an offer thru NCL for an ocean view which I upgraded to Club suite mini. I got three other cabins for family members ( their own names and on their credit cards ) at the same time for 10% off. They don’t gamble but are considered VIP casino guests and can board with that group. Just have your friends make the call for you. They will need all your info when they make the call. We are going on the Encore Thanksgiving week.

Interesting...when I've done it before I was limited to two additional rooms but not surprised they're letting that rule slide a bit to get people on the ship!  And I forgot they can check in at the CAS counter.  I once sailed with my sister's in-laws (but ironically NOT my sister.)  He was handicapped so we went to the front of the screening line, then I took them to the CAS line where there was no wait.  We went from the taxi to the ship in about 15 minutes 🙂

I recommend conferencing your friends in when you're doing the booking.  I never have all the info needed (stuff like DOB, credit card numbers, etc.) and it just makes things a bit easier.

While land base casinos do offer a discounts for cruises, these are actually a "Free Cruise Voucher" from NCL's "Casino at Sea", given out by a land base casino (depending on your level of play).  They are usually for a 7 day cruise (NCL) with a free cabin.  All you pay is the tax & port fees along with an administrative fee.  You can upgrade if you want for a charge and add on some of their packages.  I have gotten and used them from Caesars, Golden Nugget (LV) and the Tropicana in Laughlin which is a Caesars property now.  You also get free alcohol & non alcohol drinks while playing in the casino. And........if you are booking your cruise with the voucher during a "promotion",  you also get those benefits, like free Beverage and Dinning pkgs. Buy their Air and the second passenger flies free.  You can't beat it.  I truly believe that NCL's Casino at Sea is the best program out there compared to other cruise lines.

yes, i fully understand that. i have used the "free" vouchers many times!

what i was saying is that many casino brands offer discounts on purchased cruises through their affiliation with NCL. the discount is based on tier level and cabin class... you can use your voucher for your "free" cruise and then - at the same time - use your discount on the purchased cruises for those that travel with you. these discounts can be substantial and are generally on top of whatever discount or special offers are already in place.

there is no need to use a land-based casino discount for a "free" cruise, but it can and should be used for rooms purchased for others, which is what the OP was inquiring about.
