Do Kids Clubs stay open in port?

New to cruising, new to CC... Will be sailing with wife, son (11), and daughter (6). I'm looking at possible excursions and wondering whether it is an option to leave one or both kids on board.

Thanks,

Lee

Aboard Celebrity, you can leave your kids in the children's program while you are ashore. There is no charge except from noon - 2pm on port days where there is a $6/hr charge (3-12 yr old kids).

Yep--Norwegian charges, I think, $5 per hour per child on port days. But your kids are about the same age as mine, and we've never felt inclined to do shore excursions that they wouldn't enjoy.

Princess and Carnival do not charge for the kids program, except for post 10-pm kidsitting ($5/hr). On our last cruise, there were a couple of times the fee was waived (such as New Years Eve). You do have to sign up prior to any port day or post-10pm kidsitting. The kids can watch movies, play PSII. There may be some limited activities. If during a meal time, the kids will be taken to the casual dining rooms.
