The filter for solo cabins has been there, just not always easy to find. But it would be nice to be able to find actual solo discounts - currently I have to rely on my PCC to remember to tell me. It's for discounted sailings. Go to More Filters, change the number of guests to 1, and the Solo Cruiser Discount box will be active. If you include only cruises (excluding the Alaska cruise tours, many of which do have a discounted rate), there are currently 78 cruises listed as having at least one discounted sailing. I don't know how accurate it is though. The final Prima sailing in Northern Europe before she heads to the U.S. is marked as having a solo cruiser discount, but comparing the 1 guest/2 guest prices shows zero discount in any cabin category. Anyway, I made a spreadsheet for the current pricing in all categories for both of my Spirit bookings. We'll see what the numbers look like when the sale launches. But don't hold your breath. 70% off the 2nd guest is the same as 35% off the total fare This 😉 - bingo and I double checked our 2022 booking, no change in base fares and nothing new/better for us, except for the tricky $250 FCC ... will call in to claim that and get it added, LOL. Of course, could just as easily disappear on subsequent rebooking or changes if a newer/better and different bundle of free offers come along. I am doubtful that free/prepaid DSC deal or port taxes/fees/charges will come along anytime soon ... NCLH isn't going to give away more revenue with their bottom-line revenue in mind. AND, a cautionary note for those $150 for $300 CruiseFirst Certificates being peddled now, it has even more restrictions and will expire in 3 years (look up the fine prints on the official site) - the CNC that many of us are holding are still valid for 4 (four) years. But, let someone else start a different thread to chat and spin about it and not go terribly off-topic.
dbrown84 Posted November 11, 2021 #29 Share Posted November 11, 2021 (edited) I've been looking at doing a B2B in January/Feb, but was waiting to see if a better deal/promo came along. Looks like this is going to be as good as it gets. I'll get two cruise first certs and hopefully they'll have the solo option for the flights. Since I'm using casino comp certificates, I'm not concerned by the price fluctuations. I hold out for the best promos. I'd really love for double or triple points to come back Edited November 11, 2021 by dbrown84

Airfare discounts have to be booked 90 days in advance so not gonna happen for anything in January or early February.

So I was hoping that meant they were waiving the 90 day rule. I'm waiting until next week for the sale to start to see
SanMarc Posted November 11, 2021 #32 Share Posted November 11, 2021 Question for you cruise veterans. We're newbies as we've only sailed 4 times each on Celebrity and our next one we reserved on NCL Encore for 2023. We've used a travel agent and thanks to this post we see a substantial reduction in our booking for the Haven. Do we need to call the TA or should we just call NCL, looking for guidance. Thanks

Thanks Your TA owns your reservation, so you need to contact your TA - NCL can't do anything. As a word of caution, prices change frequently. You might want to do a new booking with the new price and do a courtesy hold until you talk to your TA, just in case.

It's the trick they've been playing. They say 70% off the 2nd passenger because it looks better, but it really is 35% off for each guest. Same goes for the flights. They advertise it's a free flight for the 2nd guest, but if you're solo they just charge you half for your flight

CWMixer Posted November 11, 2021 #40 Share Posted November 11, 2021 If the room category you're booked in is subsequently 'sold out', no current price shows. In the event the other category rates for the same sailing go down (due to an actual bottom line "sale"), anyone ever have any luck getting a reduction on a 'sold out' category? I've been told it's not possible if there is nothing available. But you can always call to see if there is any inventory - website doesn't necessarily update on the fly. Or just book a better category to take advantage of a sale (which would of course mean your category is no longer sold out, catch-22). I once got an upgrade to an aft balcony (in the days when you could get an upgrade after final payment) because it became available and I put it on a courtesy hold, then my TA moved my reservation. From what my PCC has told me, the perks on the upgrade have to match the perks when you booked. So if you booked using the airfare promo, you can't upgrade because the airfare promo is only available for cruises 90 days out. I think that might only be if you used the airfare but not positive. Apparently it went into effect in early August.

We upgraded twice in late September, and still earned the triple points (I can't remember if that was still being offered in September on AK cruises or not). We didn't use the airfare promo.
