When does the Covid testing clock start for Argentina?

My wife and I are booked on an Antarctica cruise departing Ushuaia in February.   We know that we have to have a Covid pcr test within 72 hours before the trip.  But we have seen conflicting statements about when the clock starts.  Some “authorities” say 72 hours or less prior to the plane’s departure to Argentina and other “authorities” say 72 hours or less upon arrival in Argentina.  Given the long flight time from the U.S., this is a significant difference, especially when you include the lag time needed to get back results.

 

Any thoughts - or better yet documentation - as to when the Argentina 72 hour covid clock starts?

We leave for Argentina in 19 days.  Just to be on the safe side, we booked our Covid test appointments within the "72 hours of arrival" window.

United Airlines.  The Travel Ready center tells me the earliest time for my COVID Test.

HI :     I just found this thread --- yay !!! I am Nancy (from Fort Lauderdale) and traveling with my GF Nancy (yes two Nancy's) from Phoenix.       We just returned from a TA on the brand new HAL Rotterdam and now getting excited about this adventure.     We leave MIA on the 5th and plan on getting the PCR on the 3rd.    Is this too soon ?

3rd is fine.  Check you airline or cruise company.  If you are flying to Argentina you must complete the declaration jurada 48 hours prior to your arrival.   https://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app/home.php

Having just done 2 international trips and needing a PCR test 72hrs within arriving back to Canada, this may be cutting it close for long flights.  One time we got our results only a few hours before our flight home and it was stressful not knowing if we could board or not!
