Anyone know about New England/Canada Cruise on HAL

Does anyone have info?? We are first time cruisers, do you hug shoreline for the most part?? How about rough seas in August? Is it a good first time cruise??

We did the NY to Montreal cruise on Crystal last September. It was very rough between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland (at least I think that's where we were). Problem was aggravated as the ship had engine trouble for several days and we could only do 8 knots so we got to bounce around out there for several days.

Been there lots of times. Generally a good ride unless you get caught in a storm, then it can be a bit bumpy. It's a great first-time cruise because the ports are very nice, as are the people. Shore excursions are also very good, in my opinion.

You won't see much of the of the coast until you approach a port.
