1ANGELCAT Posted December 16, 2021 #27 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Good morning and thanks for the update. I’m glad we had an update from Jacqui, many prayers for her and Jose. I like tilapia and have a good seafood supplier in our area. Blessings and prayers to all on our lists ❤️🙏

I for one wouldn’t mind the dailyites on the ship posting here rather than starting another thread. It will give those of us stuck in winter weather something to look forward to without having to go searching. smitty34877 Posted December 16, 2021 #31 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Good morning to all. Thanks to Gerry @ger_77,for the information about Jacqui and Jose.It is a very difficult time, I am sure ,for all involved. Next we hope to hear something about Father @Himself.It is all very concerning. I went to college in Boston in the early 70's.There was a course offered in sailing on the Charles River. It was so polluted at that time(and the harbor as well) that one needed several shots prior to being allowed on the boats. My dog once jumped in the Charles and the smell took several baths to get rid of. I am pleased to say the cleanup of both areas has been considerable. We have not been to the port, don't eat tilapia and don't agree with the quote. My,I did not mean to sound so cranky but I guess I am. Hope the day brings better news for all but in the meantime all we can do is show up and hope for the best. Terry 26

jimgev Posted December 16, 2021 #33 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Good morning. Thanks for the daily and the care lists. Chocolate covered anything sounds about right and I support the South Africa reconcilliation. The Boston Tea Party was an important step in the formation of my country. We don't eat Tilapia. I will be the contrarian today - I like the quote. He is saying that the meaning of life is not something that can be quantified or determined by a scientific method. It transcends those measurements and can only be described by the part of us that appreciates the beautiful. It is the dreamer who sees things not as the are but as they could be. It is the spirit of inventiveness, the poet, the musician, the painter, the sculpter, the writer and the lover. Stay safe everyone. 25

Mexican Mocha: 1.5 oz Patron XO Cafe .15 or Aromatic bitters Chocolate Hazelnut Syrup Method Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Using a bar spoon stir to chill and dilute. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange twist. You can add all of the above into a cup of strong coffee. 19

tjcox9 Posted December 16, 2021 #36 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Someone must eat tilapia.......not me. We just returned from Costco and they have huge packages in the fish section. It does say it is from Honduras though. 😉
tjcox9 Posted December 16, 2021 #37 Share Posted December 16, 2021 We visited Kanazawa in 2014 on Diamond Princess. We had a lovely greeting with ladies in kimonos and obis and some inflatable characters. Next pictures are from Kanazawa Castle Park and then Kenorokuen Garden. Last are from Omicho Market. It was a great port and I believe we got around by train. There was someone posted at the ticket automat to help. We found the people very helpful through Japan. 35

Quartzsite Cruiser Posted December 16, 2021 #40 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Good morning from sunny but cold Quartzsite. At 7:30 this morning, it was a chilly 29F, but the sun should warm it up as the day progresses. Reconcilliation Day is important for South Africa, just as the Boston Teas Party was important in forming this country. @richwmn Rich, as usual, you had me with the mention of chocolate. It is good covering strawberries, peanuts, almond, etc., but it is also good by itself. @jimgev Your interpretaton of today's quote made me change my mind about the quote. Talapia is not served in this house.and only partly because it is farm raised. We had some frozen talapia once, and I did not care for the taste or texture.. I'll stick with salmon or a different mild white fish. I'll pass on the drink, but the wine sounds interesting. Since I'd never heard of Kanazawa, Japan, I guess that means it is a port we have not visited. I looked it up on Google Maps, and found it is on the west coast of Honsu Island almost directly west of Tokoyo. Hopefully one of our fellow Dailyites has been there and will have pictures to share. @tjcox9 Thank you for the pictures of Kanazawa. They appeared just as I was ready to post this. @ger_77 Gerry, thank you for the update from @kazu Jacqui. I hope there is good news soon about Jose. @aliaschief Safe travels. Enjoy your weekend with your daughter and granddaughter. @cunnorl Thanks for the update on your sister. @StLouisCruisers Sandi, safe travels tomorrow and Saturday. @Seasick Sailor Joy, like @superoma I would like to see the Dailyites posting on this thread, but if you prefer to start a thread or join @richwmn Rich's thread, I'll search for it. I'll try to check back later in the day, but most of the day I'll be decorating five batches of gingerbread cookies. Lenda 24

I had a long conversation with @kazu last night and she has agreed to let me post on her behalf today. She is so grateful for the outpouring of love, care, and prayers that everyone has expressed for her and Jose, and asks for continued prayers. For the next little while she will not be posting on our Daily, as she will be spending her time at the hospital, focusing on Jose and his medical needs. I know she will not have the energy to provide updates on a regular basis, but I can assure you I will certainly post something when I hear from her. I ask that you continue to keep Jacqui, Jose, and the medical specialists working for them in your prayers as we go through our days ahead. Thank you, Gerry They both have all of my prayers and have prayed for the Doctors to find the cure. Jim. 16
Cruising-along Posted December 16, 2021 #43 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Good morning all! Continued prayers for Jacqui and Jose and everyone on the Care list. @ger_77thank you for letting us know you talked with Jacqui. Cheers for everyone on the celebrations list. Well you gotta love the airlines. DH got a text at 1:30 this morning from Alaska Airlines. Our flight home today was canceled. Only choice was tomorrow afternoon (!) or later today out of LAX instead of Burbank. Also we lost our first class seats. It has been a wonderful 12 days visiting family on both coasts but will be good to be home too. Here are some photos from our day at Huntington Gardens. 30

Sharon in AZ Posted December 16, 2021 #45 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday! Thank you for the Daily Rich. Prayers for those on the Care list. Thank you Gerry @ger_77 for the update on Jose. Extra prayers for him. Jacqui must be exhausted. I used to make tilapia because it was a mild white fish but I found barramundi which I prefer. I’m sure you could use any mild white fish for today’s recipe. I’ve been to Boston twice and walked the Freedom Trail but haven’t made it to the Tea Party museum. Maybe in October on the Nieuw Statendam. Have a great day everyone and Merry Christmas from the Koningsdam:
marshhawk Posted December 16, 2021 #46 Share Posted December 16, 2021 You know when you read something, or see something that makes you feel good about life you share it. Well I just got this from my co worker (she's in TX and I'm in GA) and I wanted to share it with you . The difference between School and Life? In school you are taught a lesson and then given a test. In life your are given a test that teaches you a lesson. It was next to a picture of a minion. (we refer to each other in this business as minions. Telemarketing minions.) I liked yesterdays quote, truth is, I would be dead if life was fair, with all the stupid stuff I did when I was younger. Now as I am older, I am an artist (not good) and i dont try to explain life at all in my art. The intent of my art is to make you smile or laugh, which to me is the best part of living. NEVER look up the meaning of life on the internet. It's depressing, so just smile.😸 17

highland cruiser Posted December 16, 2021 #48 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Good morning. It is good to be home but sure do miss the sunshine and heat in PV. Thanks to all for the updates and news. Great pictures of the port. We have not been there. Best day ever for me includes chocolate. Prayers for all on the prayer list. Extra for Jacqui and Jose. Appreciate getting the updates. My heart goes out to all affected by those terrible tornados and all the bad weather everywhere. Congratulations to all celebrating. Stay well and safe. Thanks again for such a positive thread. Great way to start my day.

But sorry to hear about the cancellation. Once we flew from Sydney to LAX and found upon arrival our flight to ATL was cancelled due to an inch of snow here. Thanks to our cruise line airfare we were at the bottom of the list for rebooking. They had scheduled us for 33 hours later with nothing else available. We had to spend the night in a hotel. Only good thing was we crashed at the hotel and got some sleep.😴 16
AncientWanderer Posted December 16, 2021 #50 Share Posted December 16, 2021 Good morning. Interesting collection of days. Chocolate-covered raisins have always been my choice of candy at a movie theater. Thank you @ger_77for reaching out to Jacqui. I bet it was a real comfort to her to hear your voice. Our fervent prayers for her and Jose continue. @jimgev, your interpretation of the quote is beautiful. My addition to that would be that one could take a very broad view of the definition of "artist." @Cruising-along, travel is so daunting. Sorry about your flight! Your photos of Huntington Gardens pull heartstrings. We had an overnight set in Pasadena for the gardens and other local attractions in March of 2020. But the rug was pulled out. One of my favorite places. Thanks @kb4683for background on the Bloody Mary. Those really hit the spot at certain times. Usually on airplanes. Yesterday I heard that our family Christmas Day dinner is back on -- but "day of" Covid tests will be administered. So regrouping once again and will do additional shopping and preparing. Tonight is three-year-old DGD's debut in a Christmas program. They will be masked, drop masks to sing their song, then exit stage left. What a world! Many thanks once again to our Daily Contributors. It will be great to hear from the group onboard the Rotterdam together -- either on this thread or another. We'll all be traveling and celebrating with you in spirit. Enjoy your day, Everyone! 20
